Megan: Isn't it great how much difference a year can make? I love that you're doing RftC in Philly. I'll probably do Pgh's, but I hear Philly's is extraordinary!
Tricia: Get thee some Pi! Any reason to celebrate the pastry, er, the mathematical constant
π. Maura's only the 3 or 4th person I know who was aware of it besides DOOD and myself. I love the I DID IT shirt motto--13.1 Miles and looking FABULOUS--and it speaks well of the great time you had at the Princess. Have you posted your RR yet? I really want to read it because I know you and Carrie had a great time.
Frank: First, congratulations on today's race. If the weather was anything like Pgh, you had good conditions.
Second, that must be really cool to see familiar faces at the races and build those relationships organically. I don't do a lot of local races, but I have the "nodding acquaintanceship" on my regular runs. (Did you read the
RW article on runners and waving? I think of that.) Third, yeah, what was up with Man U? Good for Liverpool, though, and the game made for great press.
Mindy: Congratulations, what great news!
I mean about the baby, not the blister.
I'll bet there are lots of celebrations in your household and with your family. It's probably way too early for you to think about, but you might be able to sell your entry to someone you trust after the 1/2 closes. There will always be WISHers who don't sign up and then regret it. They can pick up your packet with the proper I.D. Just something to think about.
Jennifer: See, that's what we're here for. To remind each other that we are all making progress! So, how did your running group run today?
Jackie: How did the LR on the TM go today? Did you miss your group much, or were you able to substitute other adequate distractions? I like your group's agreement, btw. Any group I would ever join would need such a policy, along with a post-run refreshment stop.
Maura: The fact that a recipe is easy to make seems to me to be in its favor. Along with the flavor of course. (Why use extract when you can use rum? mmmmm.) DOOD was delighted that you knew about Pi Day. That, savethewords.org, and CBC2...he might have a new crush. Or maybe that's me. Hard to tell. How do you feel about Leonard Cohen. Do I feel a "Hallelujah"?
As for me: Another tough run today. I've been having such a hard time on the TM lately, and I don't know why. The outdoor runs that I do midweek are fine, but the Saturday TM ones.... And tough from the beginning of the run or even if I set the pace slower than my outdoors pace. Huh. It's not normal for me, as I generally find the TM easier. Can't figure it out.
Of course, the obvious answer is to quit running on the flippin' TM. But that might interfere with my TV time.
Anyway, any suggestions or ideas?
