Why is running with my dog always an adventure? We went to a running park last night to get in our run. On the way over he was pacing in the car and crying, I figured he had to potty. We get there, I get him out and he goes, I thought to myself, "good, now he won't have to go while we run". We started out doing 2-2, I was feeling great and running in the 9:00's and walking in the upper 12:00's. I was able to run in 9:00's the entire time, but we ended up walking in the 16:00's because every time we stopped to walk, Hines would tug on his leash to get over to the grass and would start peeing, he was peeing while he was walking! We did that for a while, until one walk break he started really tugging on the leash and wouldn't walk with me, so we stopped and he started sniffing around looking for a place to #2 potty. Thankfully I grabbed a couple of potty bags before we started, so I cleaned everything up, looked around and no garbage can. I had to run with a bag of poop in my hand for about a quarter mile, I thought I was going to throw up! After that episode, we continued on, during another walk break, Hines starts peeing and walking again, and then he started sniffing around, I thought "oh no!", but he wasn't looking for a place to place to potty, he plopped himself down on the ground and laid down. I guess he was tired! I made him get up, we only had 7 minutes to go. The last minutes of my run I had to slow down to an 11:00 pace because he was so far behind me, I couldn't drag him to go any faster!!! We ran 2.62 in 30 minutes, although I think it took us 40 minutes to run 30 and when we finished, Hines drank SO much water (there's a drinking fountain for dogs at the park), I thought he was going to make himself sick. So it was quite the adventure we had last night! Can't wait to do it again.

Stephen laughed at me the entire time, I told him he gets Hines next time! Oh, and Stephen said thanks for all the congrats on his tri.
Jodi--When is your anniversary? Our anniversary is Oct. 21. This year is the big 6 for us. Have fun planning! Although I don't know how you do it. Stephen and I sit down and plan everything, but I make him call and make all the reservations and ADR's. For some reason I just don't like doing it. How is your foot? Feeling better?
Helen--We will miss you! Guess I have to run Disney in 2008 now.
Heather--It sounds like you had an awesome time! I'm very jealous, I would LOVE to go to New York City, I have never been.
Kristi--Your doctor sounds like a real winner! Have you found a new one yet?
Dana--I forgot to tell you congrats on your new house. Stephen and I built our house 2 1/2 years ago, we had so much fun and it was such a great process. It was really cool to see an empty piece of land turn into our home. We've already decided when we move, we are building again.
Speaking of building, where is Liz??
Tiff-- How is VBS going? Ready to pull your hair out yet?
Monte--Good job on your 10K.
Minnie--I completely know what you mean. After Disney and after the Flying Pig, I was nervous and scared to get started again, that's why I took off so much time after each event. I don't even know how to describe it, but I was definitely scared. Just start back slow, go for leisurely walks and ease back in. Do you have a mp3 player? Whenever I don't feel like working out, I always download new music, I get excited to listen to my new songs, but the only time I use my mp3 player is when I run, so I have to run to listen to my new songs.
I better get off here and start my day. It's going to be a long one, I have to work a chili fest for the fire dept from 10-2ish. I'm the "to go coordinator", sounds important, huh? It just means that people pay me if they want their food to go. I'm not looking forward to it, it's outside and it's storming here with a high of 88. At least I get out of the office for a little bit!
