Greetings TEAM!
I'm back from my vacation on Keuka Lake, NY. We had a great week of weather - sunny and hot. Great for diving into the lake and swimming. It rained on us once, but we needed a break from the sun. It was so nice to spend the time with the family, and be able to spend all day with the princesses DD5
and DD8
. I'm back at work now trying to get caught up with things, and I miss them.
So I tried to keep up my training and healing while I was gone. I decided I would try to get some walking in, and not worry about running at all. Here's my report:
Monday: 2.05 mile walk in morning in 35:02 min/17:05 mpm; 1.03 mile walk in evening in 16:56 min (free'd up some room for ice cream).
Tuesday: 2:09 mile walk in morning in 34:46 min/16:38 mpm; 1 mile walk in evening with DW in 20:37 min.
Wednesday: rest day; rainy day
Thursday: 2:03 mile walk in morning in 30:01 min/14:49 mpm; 30 min deep water run in afternoon
Friday: 2.2 mile walk in morning in 33:34 min/15:15 mpm; 21 min deep water run in afternoon
Saturday: 2.04 mile walk at 4:00pm in 33:30 min/16:26 mpm; 90 degrees and HOT!!
Week total: 12.44 miles
That's the most I've walked for 5 weeks. I must say however that my right shin is still bugging me. I definitely need to keep taking the ibuprofen and icing. I'm supposed to see the PT this afternoon. I was hoping to report to him that I walked all week and felt great, but, alas, not yet.
OK, I'm still reading last week's post to catch up with everyone.

You go girl
Can't you ever catch a break?

. So I guess we are going to file a formal complaint and be done with it. It's really disappointing because until we started having problems with this car (not only the timing chain, but the transmission has been fixed 3 or 4 times, the starter went out last winter, and the left head lamp/turn signal was wired too high and it kept burning out bulbs) I was Saturn's biggest fan. Stephen and I also owned a 2001 Saturn SL2 and we both loved that car and we were planning on buying a Vue, but that is not going to happen now. That said, I'm very grateful and thankful that the biggest problem was the timing chain, the entire motor could have been damaged or I could have been seriously hurt or killed last week when my car broke down--I'm definitely counting my blessings!!
