Megan: I hope you feel better and were able to get your 6 miler in. Thanks for the info on Hershey. DOOD and I mean to get there sometime this summer.
Jim: Congrats for getting on the bike. I missed the news about your accident, and hope this news means you're fully recovered (minus the soldering incident.)
Tracy: So glad you got the mail! Love hearing about, and seeing, the Expo. I'd never seen the R&R medal collection. What cool bling! And congrats on the mini-speakers. ING definitely offered a lot more goodies than Disney. Cool concept for the shoelaces--bet you love the color, too! Oh, and good luck tomorrow
RACEY TRACY!
Chris: Congrats on the 5 miler. You're right back into the groove. (I only want to do Dopey to maximize my time with WISHers. I can't do a Matt and pace with different folks, but I can enter every race. I just like to take my parties on the road, I guess.)
Shan: You could remind DH that it's a very good time to go...very slow, no lines. I tend to do RW for 1/2+ distances, with varying intervals depending on conditions. I find it helps me avoid injuring an already-wonky knee. Planning on walking at the water stops, at the very least, works for me. It allows me to assess how it's feeling, consciously adjust my pace, etc. I also find my overall pace doesn't suffer.
Tricia: It sounds like your RW strategy worked well for you. Were you pleased? It kind of reminds me of what Matt did for his "taper" when doing the Goofy. (Some taper, huh?!)
Terri: First, sorry about the Eagles. I was really hoping for a Steelers/Eagles Superbowl. Second, boo for running out of medals and the water station set up! It sounds like you did quite well for the race conditons!

Third, yay for Goofy!
Laurie: Have a great time scrapbooking! And great job on your Goofy and getting a marathon PR!
Zalansky: Congrats for signing up for your 5K. I think many of us need races to keep us motivated. I've been alternating my running outside with TM runs and find the combo keeps me challenged.
About the nappers in my gym...for reals!! It's only 3 or 4 older guys, but they'll also nap on the weight benches in the cardio/free weight rooms. I think they might be confused as my gym, which bills itself as fitness club and has tons of amenities, has recently done a reno and now markets itself as a lifestyle center. The common area now includes a gas fireplace and oversized leather chairs/sofa, and a cafe area serving soups/sandwiches. No wonder they think the mats are for a little nap--we're encouraged to spend all day there! I'd complain about where my monthly fee goes, but they also bought us 8 new TM within the last month.

Anyway, I just love the sociological study that is the gym. Remind me to sometime to tell you about some of our local characters, like Pajama-Bottom Guy or The Immovable Object.
As for me: Yes, I'm so lame as to be home on a Saturday night. DOOD is really, really sick, so we cancelled our plans and will be watching a DVD soon. On the upside, I went for my so-called LR this weekend. (They're kind of all the same these days, as I'm going on maintenance for a while to work on XT, strength training, and the dreaded weight loss.) It went smoothly, if not quickly.
