Well, I went out on Sunday to get my last 20 miler in. I am used to starting my runs at 7am, this time I didn't start until 9:30, because I had to deal with sick kids and sick DH before I left. Then to top it off, the freakin' weather here is killing me. I remember complaining a couple of weeks ago about the fact that it was going to be like 28, well for the past few days it has been almost 80. I couldn't find either pair of socks I usually run in, so I tried to run in my WISH socks. It just seemed that NOTHING was going to go my way for this run. The first 10 were pretty good, but then DH called and told me that Lucas had broken out in a rash all over his body and that I needed to come home. It all went downhill from there. My intervals were shot, I had no more energy, and I struggled to complete the last 4 miles back to the car, and I actually ended up walking the last mile. So I got in 14 miles instead of 20. Now I am seriously wondering wether or not I can do this. I mean I know I have run a 20 and a 22, but after spending 2 weeks taking care of sick family and not getting to run at all I am afraid I have wasted all of that training I had built up. Can that even happen? Then to top it off, I think Michael gave me his cold. I now have a cough and runny nose. Anyone know any quick fixes to get rid of that? I would like to not miss any more runs until the marathon, and I can't do that if I can't breathe.
Krista - I am so sorry about the LR trouble. I know exactly how you feel. Hopefully this will mean we will have a better race?! (wishful thinking).
Cecilia - I was giving my doc a hard time. It seems like ever since my DH and I quit smoking back in April we have been sick constantly, especially with the sore throats. I would rather have a sore throat a couple of times a year though instead of constantly coughing and hacking because I smoke 2 packs a day. Try to take care of yourself. I think I have run myself ragged between training, christmas, and taking care of my infirmary here.
Pat - It seems like there is an entire group of us who were supposed to put in at least 20 and didn't get that far. Maybe if we all buddy up with one of the others who had great LR's they can keep us motivated throughout the race.
Sunny - I am so sorry. I sure do hope you get over this without having to go back on that other antibiotic, and that you feel better soon.

Congratulations to everyone who got their LR's in, regardless of how good it felt.

Hugs to those of you, who like me tried real hard, but didn't quite finish it all. And hugs to those who were feeling to bad to get it in at all.
