Good morning everyone. Happy Monday!! I am feeling a little better about my lr fiasco, if I had to walk because I was tired, I think I would have been okay with that, but the fact that I had to walk due to a re-occurring injury upsets me. My biggest fear for the marathon is an injury right before the start and when my IT band started hurting not even half way thru the run, it felt like nightmare coming true. I know I sound over the top and I hate be such a drama
, but that's how I felt on Saturday. After thinking about it on Sunday, I feel better about it. I've been icing it and I'm going to rest it until tomorrow, the plan this week is to do the elliptical in place of running and then the bike for cross training. I don't think I'm going to do my lr on Saturday, but I'm going to do the elliptical instead. I'd like to cross train the rest of the taper and not even attempt to run until the marathon. What do you think? Do you think I'll be okay? I don't think I will lose fitness or muscle tone since I'll be cross training, but will not running for 3 weeks be bad on marathon morning?
Sunny--
get better soon!!!
Christa--Thanks for the link, I'm definitely going to check that out. Sorry about the Panthers, well not that sorry!!
Hope you stay healthy
and more
for your knee.
Jodi--That stinks about your friend! I hope she is able to come to a decision soon. I'm not sure how equal the elliptical is to running, I'm going to search around and see if I can find an answer. I do know that roughly 5 miles of biking is equal to roughly 1 mile of running.

: and
I must admit, I am particularly proud to know my race partner had a great LR! Go, Rhonda!
Hoping to feel better by the time we go out to celebrate our 22nd anniversary on Friday. (where is that fingers-crossed smilie?)
He saw me walking into the bathroom with a huge bowl of ice. I told him I was taking an ice bath. (HE HATES the cold!) However, I was not stiff or sore at all, so there!
But you know - and we sure all know - you are ready for this! Oh no, now I see you have pain in your foot. Oh I hope it goes away with your icing. Listen, my appointment with Dr Handsome isn't until 12:30? Why dont you come with me?
, but I never said a word to him.) Taking a day off is what your body needs. Whther or not your LR hurt your ankle, it sure didn't help it. If it hurts at all when you try to run again, do not run on it! Your body needs this time to heel and you are way more apt to do too much instead of too little.

I thought of you often on my L/R on Saturday. I was thinking of how much I have accomplished and how amazed I am about all I've done - and all I'm about to do, and I was thinking about how grateful I am for you bringing me here and getting me started. I really owe you so much.
