Last night I got in 45 min of weight training. I tried out a different Firm video and there were some great moves for glutes and calfs in it. Plus I feel some good tightness in my pecs today so I guess I got a good upper body workout too! Tonight I have a 5 miler planned. I see clouds rolling in so I am cutting out of here right at 4 to get this run in, just in case the skies open up.
Oh, and I have to hurry it up cuz I'm going to see Calgary vs Detroit in NHL playoff action, woohoo!
OK, here is my attempt to catch up with everyone this week:
Claire - wow, that was quite a trip to B&N! I just ordered some books for my mom as she is about to start training to walk her first half. I included MfM, which I haven't read yet, but I'm hoping to get through before I give to her. Ultra Marathon Man sounds super interesting, but unfortunately Amazon.ca doesn't have it in stock. Grrr, the sad thing about being north of the 49th sometimes!
Meghan - Sorry to hear DH is going back to nightshift. Good luck as you keep on with your training though!
bekkiz - It sounds like you are doing great on your training. Keep it up!
Kelley - Hope your family is feeling better and you feel as though you are able to get your training back on track. Good luck!
tiberius - CoCo looks gorgeous! Good luck running in that Houston humidity.
Andrew - Hope you are enjoying your week off. BTW - congrats on your weight loss achievement, that's awesome!
Jackie - Congrats on registering for the half! I actually found quite a few Westie rescue organizations out there. I think it is great that these organizations exist, but it still breaks my heart that so many dogs wind up there. At least we can give them good forever homes. I know Finlay is greatful! But yes, be careful about looking too hard. Once I started casually perusing I think I had a new dog at home within a few weeks!
Dave - What a serious crazy elevation change for your run this weekend. Also sounds like you had a great weekend. Good luck with your taper for the Pig!
Matt - Congrats on completing your first tri! One of my old coworkers has gotten really into tris the last couple of years. Now it seems like she is racing every weekend and consistently placing in her age group. I love reading her blog to see all her accomplishments, just as it was great to read your race report!
Becky - Hope your leg is feeling better. Good luck on your R/W tomorrow.
Judy - Sorry to hear those orthotics in your dress shoes didn't work out for you! As someone who has actually tripped at work (thanks to my fascination with pointy toed shoes with skinny heels that happened to catch on the cuff of my pantleg) I knew where you were coming from.
Carrie - Great job on the 10 miler with minimal leg pain!
Sunny - Congrats on your 5 miler!
Shan - We all have our good days and bad days, but it sounds like you are making some great progress. Good luck as you train for RFTT.
Lily - How did things go with the trainer?
Martha - Doing cardio and watching the marathon, that would be inspiring! Yup, I love Westies too. My family had two growing up. My parents have a Scottie that I have been puppy sitting for a year and a half while they have been overseas and those two are so cute together.
Craig - MIT - seriously? That's awesome, congratulations! You should definitely be proud.
Christa - Your race with your sister looked like so much fun. I think it is a great way to spend time with her. My mom is in, I'm hoping to get some more of my family members hooked on the racing thing too.
Colleen - Hope you are feeling better and that you were able to get your LR in!
Krista - Great run with Hines. AI should be interesting tonight. I read an article on MSNBC that stated that Sanjaya actually had a good chance to win it all. I think the AI franchise would spontaneously combust then!!
Mel - RIP your toenail!
Sara - Congrats on that new Garmin. I love mine.
Jen - I really hope your foot feels better! Here's hoping you get better soon and can make it to WDW.
Cam - Get better soon!
Laurie - Did you manage to stay flood free over there?
Whew! I think I got just about everyone there. I have to say, I am really looking forward to meeting you guys, whether it is at Minnie, ToT or in January. I appreciate all of your support!
