Non-Disney Online Games (Wizard 101) Quest Tips & Help Thread!

...was wondering if anyone remembers how to get back to the Ghost of Krokhotep after defeating the last boss. There seemed to be no access that I could find...
You can go back the same way you got there. However you will not see the teleporter until you get in the same room and close enough to it.

HI, I am a little stuck at the moment and I was wondering if someone here could help me out. I am a death student(lvl 12) and I got a quest from Malorn Ashthorn to search around Mortis in Nightside. I found the door to Nightside behind the waterfall in the Commons, but I cant go through it.Is there something I need to do first in order to get through the door to nightside? Thanks for any help

After you fight and defeat Nightshade (at the end of the Haunted Cave) the Professor gives you the quest for Nightside. You 'find' the entrance and go in.
The first part of that quest is the person in Olde Town who gives you the key to the tower, but I can't remember their name. You fight "her", then Nightshade, then go to Nightside.

Double posting I know, but I didn't want this rant mixed in with my help. Kinda negates the helpfulness that I was trying to let shine.

Is it just me, or has Wizard lost its shine. I think after going through 3x (?) wipes and the constant, never changing grind of quests that I can't stomach another go around. I have my Life wizard in Mooshu and 2 others which I half-heartedly got into Krok. I seriously don't have the patience nor inclination to do anymore people nor finish the 2 in Krok.

I am glad I didn't purchase I year of this game because as of today I haven't logged in since the October Halloween quests...well I have logged in, then immediately log out because I just can't stomach another kill.

Does anyone else feel this way? I see you all trying to farm the bosses and get to higher levels even after finishing all the available quests and I think "omg, way to go", but for me I just can't do it. :wizard:

Hey, Dream! Yes, I think Wizard has lost some of its original 'shine', as you call it. I still play, I still find it fun, but it's missing that community feel that I think is crucial for a casual gamer, such as myself. The endless battles are repetative and have become very boring. Some of the quests are ridiculously long and tedious, as in the Counterweights, Big Ben, etc. The instances. I still have a problem with forcing players to run through instances that can take upwards of two or three hours to complete without breaks.
I keep hoping KI will bring in something more than just battles for their players. The ability to have community events would be a nice addition. Allowing student wizards to decorate their dorm rooms, perhaps. Just a little 'something' more than what the game is would help keep me interested.
Fiona Green, my avatar, is in Marleybone. I've just completed the two Counterweight instances solo, but I'm taking a break from attempting Big Ben. I'm just not interested in getting through it, even though I'd love to make MooShu. I have another wizard in Krok. That is where she will stay, as I find Krok to be really dull and tedious.

Im glad it's not just me feeling this way. It took me forever to finally sit down and put in the 2.5 hours for Big Ben just because it becomes so tedious. I have been sitting in front of Crimson Fields now for four days and am dreading beginning it. I keep going back and defeating bosses for drops to avoid it :headache:
Not that I don't really like everything else, it's just the loooonnnng battles I dread.

I am almost certain that, even if she could find the time, I will not be letting my daughter sit in front of this thing for that long!

Green you hit it exactly. Even on VMK we had time we could just be creative (room building), wander around with friends, or just sit in a room and talk.

As much as I loved (loved, loved....to the 10th power) fireworks, I was most often, 80 to 85% of the time, in a room building or just hanging with my friends.

I miss that community feeling. I REALLLLLLLY miss that feeling as I write about VMK in my blog and pull up pictures from Dreamytime's and Nightmaretime's past.

Elf Island might have that community feeling eventually, but right now I'm not 100% sold on the game. I think it is the colorforms look, reminiscent of Pixie Hollow, which is bothering me. I am sure that things will change, so I am going to wait patiently as they listen to our suggestions.

I have to admit, Wizard and Elf Island BOTH have customer support that any company should be proud to have in their corner.

But the thought of killing another mander or fighting another cow is just abhorrent to me. I really need to see a new land. That might make me wanna brush off my wand. I know, I don't HAVE to play Wizards. But paying for it makes me feel responsible to get my money's worth. So, I guess I am saying, give me something that makes me want to get my monies worth? idk... it isn't the clearest of rants. :)

And Ailaena, you are right, if I was younger, living at home, my mom would never let me have those long stretches in front of the computer. 2-3 hour quests that you can't pause or continue at a later time? Seriously?!? I thought the ideal world had a full compliment of activities for kids: school, outside exercise, friends, chores at home and computer time. 2 hours for a quest, tied to a computer, is only asking for more obesity and a loss of connection within their familial community. (sorry for the soapbox...putting it away)

I have just made it to Marleybone so my interest level is still pretty high. They have got to do something about Krokotopia though. I didn't think I would ever get out of there. Right now, I have been going into the "Halloween Towers" just for the drops and to give myself a little break from the quest scene. Still haven't gotten the pet spider. I was in the tower the other night with a wizard who was hesitant to join the battles because she was so afraid she was going to die. She had about 700 health. Since I am a Life wizard, I was able to keep us alive and she was really excited by the time we got to the top floor. That was fun. princess:

btw, what bosses up to Marleybone give the best drops?

My two "young" wizards are both in krok and may not move up, either. The reason for me, though, is not Krok, it is Marleybone, which I can't stand. The very thought of having to do that lab again, not to mention CW east, west and big ben - Agh! I like Krok, though. Well, each to their own!

I also am winding down, sort of waiting for Dragonspyre then I hope I dont' just RUSH through it and have nothing to do. I probably will not renew my subscription unless a lot of new material comes out or there is a substantial shift towards learning "making" skills or some other type of game.

Having said that, I do think this is great game and Bailey Wintergem is standing around in Mooshu, waiting for the next world to open!

What I think we need is another Dis meet. Unfortunately our friends list does not carry over to another character. So I miss anyone I know who is on :(

If you see Paige LionGlenn level 45 hanging in Mooshu wave hello

I have my third who is level 26 At Tomb of storms. Miranda MYthflame. Would love to have company. She is myth and has cool little minions my favorite being my first one. Sure he is only 45 health but he can knock off a few hundred easy before he gets knocked off. And that means that is one hit I did not get :) 0 pips needed my favorite minion. :)

I play every night so if you would like to me let me know. :)

Glad to see somebody else shares my love for the Puppet minion. Too many Conjurers are quick to ditch him for a Troll or Cyclops minion; they don't give the Puppet his due. Sure, he doesn't cast Fire Elf or Storm Shark -- and he can't survive even a single hit -- but he frequently manages to get off several Fire Cats and Thunder Snakes before biting the dust. All at the cost of 0 pips to me.

My Conjuer is currently farming Oyotomi in MooShu and still uses the Puppet minion from time to time. Usually, Oyotomi doesn't notice him for several rounds and then blasts him to pieces with a 3- or 4-pip spell. But better him than me. :)

I definitely think that one of the problems right now with Wizard is that it is difficult to carry your friends forward. I had a ton of people who were my friends due to a DIS meet before the last big wipe. Now I have my dad and the two of us go and run through all the different levels. I do have to admit that it's been a lot of fun to play the game with him. I don't get to see him much because he's in Dallas and I'm in Austin.

So, maybe we should post in for some sort of normal time to MEET up with everyone. Sometime that we always know if we're in the game we can go at that time to that location and that realm and pick up more friends.

I also agree with the time rant. It is agonizing for SEASONED players to go through the repetitive instances for 2 - 3 hours at a time. There should be a way to freeze play. I know the time is built in there in order to draw out the game and I think it should be there.. Or maybe the answer is making the instanced levels no more than an hour.

These guys at KI are smart cookies. They have come up with a really great game and a really great concept. The graphics are amazing. The game is very kid friendly. The challenges are fun. I know people think it's tedious to fight the same kinds of things, but trust me, being a programmer, there is a TON of variety in this game.

Am I hearing that the two big gripes are:

1) Lack of a strong community
2) Long duration for instanced levels

If there are more, voice them so that KI can help. :)

Happy Wizarding!

Well hey guys! Idk about you but i want dragonspyre out SO SO bad... seems like they'll never get it out!

Ok, the weirdest thing just happened to me in Wizard 101. I was fighting two O'Leary Nappers when they suddenly decided to leave. They didn't disappear, they just walked away. My cards were still showing and I was able to click on them. Then I totally disappeared. I had to log off and back in to change it. When I logged back in, I was in the middle of the street in one of the safe areas.

Hey doesn anyone know where in the royal hall to find the dig site. I've been looking all over but I just keep finding nothing, just dirt and more dirt. Can someone tell me where to find it?
Much appreciated
Moira

Isn't the dig site the wide open area? It's been awhile since I have been there, but it shows up as a big space on the map. You may need to click on several things there before you find what you are looking for.

If you are looking for a pile of dirt that contains ? (forgot what) it is against a wall. If you enter the Royal Hall from the pyramid and then the dig spot, it will be on the left hand wall just about where you can first see the NPC (forgot his name too) in there.

I completed Katzenstein's Lab today and it took about five hours. I was trying with my two wizards and then a friend came to help. He had to go after awhile so it was back to just me. Then a wonderful wizard by the name of Angel Dragongem came to my rescue. He was simply amazing to watch. I think I need to go back to class after watching him. After working on that one quest for so long, I just want to go back to Unicorn Way and defeat some little stuff. They say the next one is even harder?
