Without DVC this wouldn't be possible!

Hi, we're new DVC members and just made our first ressies. Before DVC, WDW was not a yearly option, but thanks to DVC membership we are going twice this year, over Memorial day weekend (OKW 5 days), and also a trip at Thanksgiving at VWL (our home resort) for six days. What could be better? I hope the ease in getting reservations wasn't just "beginners luck". Thanks to all you veterans on this board, you have given me priceless advice!!! I can't wait to go home...even 8 weeks seems too far away! Thanks again everyone!

welcome home - you will love VWL at thanksgiving -WDW starts decorating the hotel for Christmas - it is so beautiful. OKW is my home resort so I love it too. try to take the boat to DD for fun.

We have never had a problem getting ressies for our 3 stays since becoming members. We do plan ahead though.

Congrats and Welcome Home. We have never really had a problem making ressies. Whenever we have been waitlisted, we got what we wanted (without the effort of constanly calling back either )
The only time we have had problems getting a ressie were a couple spur of the moment weekend trips and nothing was really available on Disney property anyway. We were hoping to get ressies, but it was no big deal that we didn't get them. We ended up just doing a day trip (we live an hour and a quarter away), it just would have been nice to stay over.

Yes, the 8 weeks will fly by. If you are like me, you will start packing now!! I usually start the food and sundry suitcase at least 2 months out! Of course, then I have to pack and repack, but it makes me feel like the trip is closer!

I know just how you feel. We bought last July and were able to go at Christmas for 5 nights at OKW and will go again this summer for 10 nights at our home resort, BWV. We bought AP's last summer so we're getting our money's worth there...
It's been a pretty magical year and we wouldn't have been able to do it without DVC!

We have never had a problem with ressies but we also plan way ahead. Don't leave until November and I've started my list.

We could not go every year before buying into DVC. Now we can do 2 trips a year. DVC is great.
