Without DME tags, best to get luggage or...

...let DME do it? We leave tomorrow morning, and we don't have our tags yet, so I'm wondering if those that have "traveled the same road" could give some advice or whether we should retrieve our own luggage or let DME do it for us? I've printed out a picture of what our bags look like, just in case I end up letting DME get them for us, but I'm wondering about others' experiences.
