Does that mean all the RDers have to take the Ferry to the MK? There's really no other option, is there? Aside from catching the first monorail at 8:30 which probably wouldn't even get you there in time for the opening show, much less a prime tunnel spot.

What a bummer. It's my boys' first time and I know they would LOVE taking the monorail to the park!

It sounds like you're correct.

I think taking the ferry is the best option for a 1st timer. I think it's a grander presentation watching the park get closer and closer as the ferry travels across the lake.

You can always take the monorail when you leave the park.

You mean when they're passed out? :lmao:

I think we'll have to set aside time one day just to cruise the monorail for fun. The ferry is okay, but I've never been that much of a fan. My Dad on the other hand will be THRILLED! He loves that darn ferry!

How early do the ferries run?

Yes, you'll need to take the ferry in the AM. We like to take the ferry. It's a nice, relaxing ride.

We used to take the monorail trip around the loop and to Epcot and back when the kids were young. It's like another ride. I suggest you schedule a lunch or dinner at a monorail resort. That way you get to ride the monorail and have a good sit down meal.

We have meals planned at several monorail resorts, so I'm sure we will get at least a couple rides in :)

Normally 30-45min before the park opens, but it was stated there will be additional boats/buses added to accommodate the demand during the monorail downtime. I have not found an exact time schedule, but I would assume at least an hour before the park opens?

What are the summer monorail hours? We have an 8am breakfast at Kona coming from BC.. was planning to take bus to MK then monorail...will it be running then?

No.The Resort Monorail won't start until 8:30 AM and the Express Monorail not until 9:30 AM.

You will need to take a boat or bus from MK to the Poly.

Yes,it is my understanding they will run buses from the TTC to MK in addition to the Ferry.

To add a question... if we are going to do rope drop at MK on a day that it opens at 9am, would it be easier to just valet park at the Contemporary and walk over to the MK instead of parking at the TTC and taking the ferry?

Why??? What's the purpose of not running the monorail early in the AM? Screws up plans...
