What other movies would you like or think they might rerelease in 3-d in movie theaters. I know they going to release more on video but just wondering if their any other ones that would still do as good as lion king.

Finding Nemo!

We went to see Lion King this afternoon...3:30pm show, I was surprised how many people were in our theatre. I wasn't all that impressed with the "3D" though. It was ok, but nothing like the newer 3D movies coming out. In fact, I thought the colors were a little washed out. I think they should have just released it again as it was. It was great to see it on the big screen again though.

That may have been the theater you were in. I thought the 3D took the Multi-plane effect to the next level. There were very few cheap 3D tricks. Zazu flying in at the beginning was more to train your brain for the 3D imagery. The 3D effect made the movie look more like a 3D Diorama. It made the Depth-of-field of the movie really pop, especially in the Stampede scene. Very clever use of 3D!

Well, that's a bummer. One of the things I really like about 3D is depth of it, I know just want you mean about a 3D diorama, but that really wasn't happening in Lion King for me. Maybe it was the theatre. :guilty:

We saw Lion King in 3D yesterday afternoon too.

We were kinda bummed at the '3D'. We saw it at a theater that has been open about a year, so I would assume it had top of the line projection equipment.:confused3

The theater was much fuller than I expected. Couples in their 40's on down to teenagers on dates. And lots of kids with their parents/grandparents.

The little girl, maybe 5, who was sitting next to me was adorable. During Mufasa's death scene, she leaned over and whispered in the tiniest cute little high pitched voice: "This is the saddest movie EVER":)

I would really like to see more of the Disney movies brought back to the theaters 3D or not. Especially the classics, with Dumbo comming out of the Vault on the 20th, I would like to see it brought back to the movies at least for a few nights or so.

Well, the extra they made on this can help pay for the disaster known as "Mars Needs Moms".

My girls saw it on Saturday...they loved it !!!

I've been wondering though, why is it only being shown for 2 weeks?

it's only being shown for 2 weeks, because on the tuesday after it leave theaters, it comes out on blue-ray, they did the same thing for toy story

The Black Hole

Condorman

The Unidentified Flying Oddball

The Cat from Outer Space

Who Framed Roger Rabbit

Definitely Roger Rabbit. I just wish they would do 3-D without the glasses.

not sure where you are coming up with the 40 million, it was 29.3 estimated for this weekend..............however 17 years ago when it opened the first time i believe it did 40 million.

Here's Walt Disney Studios' press release.

Not that I want more 3-D, but I think it'll be...

Little Mermaid
Beauty and the Beast
Aladdin

I, too, wish they'd just re-release the movies.
