with the FP+ enhancements do you still have to use the first 3 at the same park?

I wish I had seen this thread last week. It would have saved us some confusion today at DHS. Not all of our group used their Tier 2 FP's today and as a result could not get a Fantasmic fastpass for tonight. The CM at the kiosk told us to change to another Tier 2 and just go run and burn it without using it, and then system would free up the 4th fastpass for us. (Which we couldn't do, because half the group had gone home for a nap). Basically, the system interprets what I thought was an attempt to get a 4th FP as a re-scheduling of an unused FP first, until all 3 are used, and at DHS we'd already used our Tier 1.

But, I can also confirm as others did earlier in this thread, that they are not allowing cancelling as a means to "use" a FP. Only a problem at EPCOT and DHS, but the CM was quite good at explaining everything and just said to burn the fastpass at the scanner and walk away if you aren't going to use it. That's a bit painful for a group that has members change it's mind at any time.

@tiggerrr ~ thanks for sharing your experience and for confirming all 3 FPs must be used (scanned) before a 4th can be obtained for the same park.

If you do any hopping, please let us know how that works out for your group. :)

I've been here for 2 days now and have some clarifications to add.

You Have to make AND USE three fastpasses at the first park before the app will allow you to make additional fastpasses at another park or even let you choose another tier 1 ride. Letting them expire or making and using less than 3 won't work.

The first day I only made two Fastpass at Hollywood Studios (Toy Story and Tower of Terror) and tried to make an additional one for Epcot. It wouldn't let me do it. I went to a kiosk and it was making me choose another tier 2. The attendant told me I had to use the tier one and two tier two FP before I could choose for another park. I chose another FP from tier 2 and a soon as I used it the app let me choose another from that or any other park.

Today I made 3 fastpasses for Hollywood again but didn't get here in time for the first one (Star Tours). It expired. I rode the other two (again Toy Story and Tower of Terror). Because I hadn't actually ridden Star Tours I couldn't make a Fastpass at another park.

When I realized missing Star Tours was causing a problem I went in and cancelled it even though it had expired hours earlier. It didn't help at all and I still couldn't schedule at another park.

I left and went to Epcot and was able to make another Fastpass selection at a kiosk just as it used to be but unless you actually scan your card or Magic band at the 3 attractions at your first park, the app won't bring up the ability to book at another park.
Thanks for the heads up on not be able to make a 4th fast pass on an expired one. I always thought after the time had passed it was considered used.
