With the changes, how great is FD?

With all the changes to the DDP, is it still truly worth it to do FD? I myself am having trouble following all of the changes. I'm struggling to decide if the heat, the crowds, and the changes are worth going for FD :confused3

Am I missing something??? Trouble following all of WHAT changes? I thought it was no appetizer... no tip. What other changes are you referring to?

As far as the heat goes... well.... we've gone in June. It's hotter than a fire cracker... and it rained. I think it's pretty much the same in June, July, August or September.

Crowds... well.... again.... I've gone in June. It's really crowded in June. I'm thinking even with free dining the crowds in September won't come close to the June crowds.

So I guess it all depends on what your comparison is.

I've gone twice and will go again in Sept. The heat is not unbearable. That's what air conditioned attractions and shops are for!!! If its really hot, Ellens Energy Adventure is a great 45 minute nap in the cool AC. :thumbsup2 The crowds are very manageable. The most I could save per day with a room code is about $60 (40% on a Moderate -Value season) and 1 good TS beats that. We love TS meals, good to relax for a while each day. I am all about Free Dining!!!

I couldn't have said it better myself :thumbsup2 (especially the EEA comment :rotfl2: ). We have been 4 out of the last five years in September. The heat is bearable (it's even possible to have a couple of cool days), the crowds are minimal (20 minute max on most popular rides, most just 5-10), and you can't beat free food no matter how many appetizers they take away. It was too much food with all of us getting a drink, plus appetizer, then entree, then dessert. (I do wish they had left it as a choice between appetizer or dessert.) Our family of 5 saved around $2,000 on our 10 day trip last year on food. We couldn't do that at WDW at any other time of year. However, :sad1: this may be our last year for the 5 of us to be able to go during FD, as our oldest will be in college next year.

Ummm..it's Free Food! Can't get much greater than that!
