Title pretty much says it all... with Pleasure Island no longer in existance, where is the best place for single DS'ers to go and meet other like single DS'ers?

Definitely going to miss not having PI around on the upcoming trip!!! :sad1:

Agreed, CityWalk if you have a car. Also consider Howl at the Moon, over on I-Drive, or Alehouse, on 535.

Otherwise on-property, Jelly Rolls (at the Boardwalk) can get a good crowd. Sometimes Raglan Road as well, and if you're there, try Paradisio 37 (still too early to get a good read on the crowd at that one).

Atlantic Dance at the Boardwalk across from Jelly Rolls is a Top 40 dance club that is free. Crowds really vary in size and since the place is so huge, it still looks empty even with a moderate-sized crowd.

Paradiso 37 on Pleasure Island is pretty much just a restaurant. It does have a well-stocked bar but it's not separate and it's not really a club in any way.

Thepwa is corrrect: a lot of people have switched to CityWalk at Universal Orlando which is similar to PI in that there are multiple clubs with different music/dance formats available for one admission price.

My non-commercial Blog has a lot of stories about Orlando club options. The actual list is in the June 17th entry so you'll need to scroll down to it. It's located at: www.savepleasureisland.blogspot.com

Raglan Road of course!

umm a pint of Smithwicks would be pretty good right about now!

I was never a dance club type of person, but the Adv. Club was my nightly entertainment in past years. I really don't feel like dealing with taking a cab to CityWalk, but we'll see how things workout.

All I really need is a half-decent bar with a lively atmosphere. I'm hoping between Raglan Road and Paradiso, that PI will still keep me happy. And for the Boardwalk, I can hit Jellyrolls or grab some beer at Big River or the ESPN Zone. I'm pretty easy to keep entertained ...

Also interested as my best friend and I will be there in Sept.

I've near been drinking or partying, but I have been to the Citywalk at Universal. Totally fun place to be.

Citiwalk at Universal is a weak alternative to PI but still a good place to visit with PI closed.

Raglan Road of course!

Not trying to pick a fight here, because honestly, I would consider myself a "regular" at Raglan. I'm in there once a week at least, half the bartenders know me by name. And I like Irish music--Chieftans to the Dropkick Murphys to Off Kilter. But I have to agree with most of my friends, an hour to an hour and a half at Raglan, tops, and it's time to leave. And that was when they had a better band (not a huge fan of the new duo, the four-piece band was much more lively). No way I could spend an entire night there, like the former PI clubs.

BTW, Scat Cats, in Port Orleans, is good for a couple drinks Wednesday through Saturday, when the one-man band is playing. He does a great show. Also, rumor has it there is still nightly karaoke in Kimonos at the Swan...but somehow I have never made it over there.

We enjoyed The House Of Blues last trip. Wondering what it's like at the ESPN Club.

We are going for 10 days in October, signature dining and then out for adult entertainment. Since the park hours are so short we won't really be doing the parks in the evenings.
