We are staying at Saratoga Springs and don't want to rent a car so we have been discussing how we will get to Universal what do you find the easiest way

When me and my friend went to the HHH last Oct we got a cab, we were told it would cost $80 return from Port Orleans, It actually cost us $30 on the way there and just under $30 on the way back. Which I didn't think was to bad, Plus you get droped off right at the front just one of the travelators away from the entrance of city walk.

Wow,

Thanks for the quick reply from both of you

we havent bought tickets yet so will look in to that thank you

We used Mears when we stayed at All Star Sports last year. Their number was on speed dial on the phones in the reception area. It wasn't too expensive either, maybe $9 each return but I can't remember exactly.

Mears shuttle was $14 return from All Stars Music in 2008. It was a good service too.

We got a taxi too I think it was about $25 each way, there is a big taxi rank at universal no need to wait.

I think were going to hire a car for a couple of days this time.

The reason we dont want to hir a car though is we are both under 25 so extra charge parking prices and we would both quiet to like to have a few drinks there :D

Basically without a car you have three options:

1. Cab - easy to catch one at Universal for the return
2. Mears Shuttle - previous posters have mentioned this, it's about $20-30 return.
3. Public bus. You can catch the 50 bus from DTD or the TTC and then get off at Sea World. From there, you can catch the 8 bus to the corner of Universal Boulevard - opposite Wet n Wild. From there it's a 10 minute walk. That whole trip will take you around 1 hour, but it will only cost you $2 (ask for a transfer when you get on at Disney, it's free).

If I were you, I'd do #3 going and #1 returning.

Actually, if I were you, I'd book a night in a hotel in or near Universal Studios - it's an awesome place and well worth a night or two up there.

That was the same reason why we didn't the last time - we have now hit the 25 mark now sadly haha!

We actually got a ticket deal where a 1 day 2 park ticket with a mears transfer was $10 cheaper than a 1 day ticket on it's own.

Transfer was by Mears but it did take maybe an hour as we were the first hotel and we had to stop at all 3 All Stars before we left property. Gave us time to digest our breakfast though and for -$10 each we couldn't complain. Lol.

lol do they not do this on longer tickets as we wanted to spend two days there and HHN

We got a taxi but this time we decided to spend a few nights at HRH plus we get the FOTL Pass :cool1:

There are three onsite hotels:
Hard Rock Hotel
Portofino Bay Hotel
Royal Pacific Resort
With all three of those you get the Express Pass included in your stay.

Offsite, there's lots within walking distance including the Hilton Garden Inn on American Way, Four Points, Travelodge Universal Orlando, Clarion Universal, Hampton Inn, Doubletree, Days Inn and Holiday Inn to name just a few. Tripadvisor is always useful.

We get a taxi from the hotel & stay overnight at the RPR. We worked out that for 2 days at US/IOA, FOTL, 1 return taxi for 3 was cheaper than 2 separate day visits, 2 return taxi fares & buying 3 x 2 FP's.

is there nothing like the I-drive or any thing im getting more and more confussed after thinking about it I dont want to stay at US as I dont want to spend a bulk of time at US I would like to spend a few days spread out

im so awkward lol
