With out a car! How do you get to Universal?

You can stay on International Drive. You can walk from I-Drive to Universal; it takes about 10 minutes. There's also the I-Ride trolley which runs up and down International Drive for a very reasonable price.

What might be more helpful is for you to tell us what sort of thing you want to do and how many days you want to spend doing it, then we could make a recommendation. If you're only spending one or two days at Universal Studios then a cab would probably suffice, but if you want to do other things also, or spend more time at Universal, then you might want to think about splitting your stay.

We get a taxi from the hotel & stay overnight at the RPR. We worked out that for 2 days at US/IOA, FOTL, 1 return taxi for 3 was cheaper than 2 separate day visits, 2 return taxi fares & buying 3 x 2 FP's.

Same here, going in August this year and with the crowds, heat and Harry Potter we figured a one night stay at HRH was well worth it
