With less than 3 weeks to go, need to plan coffee strategy...

I'm terribly snobby about my coffee, and have to admit that was the only damper on my vacation last year. (Actually, I was prepared with high-end coffee pods, but the Cuisinart pod brewer in our room had hardly been used, so all of my coffee tasted like burnt plastic, which was grosser than the ubiquitous Nescafe that I had to settle for in its stead...)

Anyway, before I pack my coffee maker, can anyone attest to the quality of coffee served in the CL lounges? Is it served with half and half or actual, real cream? We will be CL for half our trip, so as long as they serve halfway-decent, better-than-Nescafe coffee, I might consider leaving the coffee maker at home.

For the other part of our trip where we aren't CL, how prevalent is the Joffrey's roll out at the deluxe resorts? We'll be staying BC, so I'm assuming the coffee at the Marketplace is still Nescafe, but what about at the new Boardwalk Bakery? I don't mind taking a short trek over there in the morning to grab a cup of good coffee if they're serving the good stuff. If not there, what about at the parks? Has there been any sort of update on where Joffrey's is being currently sold? I haven't seen much chatter about this since the initial announcement was made and wasn't sure where they were with the rollout and if they were planning to eventually discontinue all Nescafe coffee (but are phasing it out extremely slowly), or if it just meant a few extra carts around the parks.

Thanks for any help!

A pour over cone, some preground, and electric kettle might be a good option for you. We used Via on out last trip, but it was mostly just a crutch to get us to the real stuff LOL!!

I've only heard about Joffreys at the newly revamped Pop food ct & at the Electric Umbrella in Epcot. Others might know where else. Not sure which coffee Boardwalk Bakery serves, but I believe you can get a cup of Starbucks at the Swolphin, which would be a similar walk.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong on any point...

Thanks so much for your response. I've thought about a pour over, but could also tote along a small coffee maker in less luggage space than the electric kettle + pour over combo, I think. It's really a shame the Joffrey's changeover (or whatever it is) is so slowly moving.

Not sure where you're staying, but our experience at the CL lounge at the YC has been that they had fresh coffee (at least it tasted like it) in the morning, but after the breakfast hours, they only had the machine (I think Nescafe). We never tried the machine for just coffee, but our son liked the hot chocolate and cafe mocha. I'm pretty sure they only had half and half, along with 2% milk.

Hmm, there's decent coffee here at Pop of all places? Is the Joffrey's stuff to be found in the "mug" machines at the food court, or is there a specialty coffee counter somewhere I didn't notice?

I'm sitting in my room at Pop as I type this, sipping specialty-brand French vanilla with real heavy cream, brewed in the coffeemaker I brought with me. Granted, I bring it every year more because I'm not coherent enough at 8am to throw on clothes and maneuver my scooter out to the food court, not because I can't tolerate the crappy coffee usually found here. But morning isn't the only time I require coffee and I had no idea the good stuff was available at value resorts.
