Would you go on Sun Sept 20, crowd level 4 with DHS mildly recommended, or Sat Sept 26 with a morning EMH (we are staying on site and would participate), crowd level 7 with DHS mildly not recommended. We have two boys (4 & 7), who love Star Wars and this is one of the big parts of the trip. Should we go on a "quieter" day without EMH, or get the benefit of the EMH for Jedi signup?

We would also be doing RnRC (standby right after Jedi signup), fastpasses: TSMM, Star Tours, TOT. Other things we want to do: Indiana Jones, LMA, Muppets.

Which day will have the bigger benefit?

I would go on the day which is supposed to be less crowded. But you need to get there at rope drop either day and head straight for the sign up. Jedi Academy will fill up for the day quickly.

if you go at rope and go directly to sign ups the day really doesn't matter.do it on your first available day so they don't miss out...

Good advice, we are planning this for Sept 29th. We have reservations at H&V at 9:20. I'm really hoping we can get to Jedi training sign up with the kids and then over to the reservations on time. The perk is my parents are with us, so if we all head straight for Jedi Training then if my mother and I need to run over and check in for our reservation we can. I'm hoping it wont be an issue. My children are up super early each morning, with the buses running early I have a feeling we will be at parks way early!

I can't tell whether you're using crowd calendars that give you per-park crowd levels or if you're giving the overall WDW crowd level. If DHS is specifically predicted as a 4 on one day vs a 7 on EMH day, definitely choose the 4 day! However if you're using EasyWDW and you just have overall WDW level plus recommended/not recommended, I'd say it's a coin toss between the "recommended" day and the EMH day that's slightly not recommended. I believe EasyWDW never recommends parks with EMH, but Jedi sign ups for onsite guests are a very good example of a time when a general recommendation doesn't apply to your specific situation.

There's a poster here whose daughter is a CM at Jedi and she usually appears on Jedi threads to share her knowledge. She recommends using EMH morning sign ups whenever it fits into your schedule. Either day you choose, you should be able to get in to a show if you arrive before rope drop (need to be outside the gates earlier on a regular opening day than you do on an EMH day).

You have a 15-20 minute grace period for your dining reservation. They won't cancel you if you're not there at 9:20.

Agree with PP who said you need to be there 45 minutes before rope drop.

We would be there 45 minutes early.

This was another concern. The 26th is our last day, and if it gets rained out, etc. there would be some serious upset kids. If we go on the low crowd day and something happens, we would have another chance on another day.
I have been thinking way too much about this.

This is exactly my dilemma. I am using EasyWDW. I think I"m leaning toward the lower crowd day, but I'm curious if the EMH benefit is really great for Jedi or if given the small number of rides at DHS and higher crowds negates the benefit.

You're not alone! We are a Star Wars family, so much so our oldest sons room is Star Wars, custom painted by me and I had a blast doing it! We've been looking at all of our days seeing if we don't make it the one day, which day Can we try again.

I really think the two days are kind of a toss-up. In your shoes, I'd try for the first day and have the second as a backup if something goes wrong with Jedi. If you have hoppers and finish Jedi early in the day, I'd probably hop to another park to take advantage of the overall low crowd levels.

Thanks! I think I will try the 20th (barring a flood like Tampa had yesterday), but keep my fastpasses on DHS for the following Sat (26th). If we get Jedi and finish what we want in DHS, I'll switch the fastpasses for AK on the 26th.

Thanks for the help everyone!
