what are my chances of being able to get on park buses, since they originate at Kidani? (I've noticed some reluctance on the part of drivers to ask people already seated in the seats that need to be lifted to move elsewhere.)

When we travel with my ECV we now rent a car and don't bother with the buses. It's much faster and having a car allows us to go where we want, when we want. We also spend as much time in the resort areas as we do the parks. Using a car, it's a 15 minute trip from resort to resort. Using the bus, it can take a hour and a half to two hours with the transfers. :moped:

That really surprises me as when we have been on Disney buses the drivers make people move that are sitting in the handicapped seats for the wheelchair/ecv person. The only exception to this is when there are already two wheelchairs on board, even if one is folded up. The buses take two and only two wheelchairs.

Now if a bus is completely full it is possible that the driver would not make people move (get off) to make room for a wheelchair. But then no walking passengers can get on either.

The buses to the parks departs from Kidani and then goes to AKL. The drivers always board the wheelchairs first then allows the other passengers on when your vehicle is strapped in. So I would think you wouldn't have any problems getting onto the bus. Note the bus to DTD does go to AKL first so you might may more difficulty getting on board.

I'll be at Jambo - so that is exactly my concern about the park buses.

Everytime I've been on a Disney bus where an ECV came on, the bus driver has asked those sitting in the moveable seats to please yield the seat to the ECV. I've never witnessed them refuse an ECV unless the bus was already at capacity. That's not likely to be an issue, and if it is...just ride on over to Kidani and get on there.

That's our experience as well. We stayed at Jambo in May and never were turned away from a bus but know that it could happen if it were full or already had two ECV's on it. Just make certain to be out at the back loading area for the bus so that the driver sees you when pulling up. Once they start loading others it may fill up and then you would have to wait.

When I was at AKV (Jambo) a few weeks ago, there were 6 ECVs waiting to get on the bus, so some folks probably had a really long wait, since only two were loaded on the bus. Hopefully that doesn't happen very often.
