be unbelievably crowded? We are staying at WL from 21st to 27th and now I am worried that the hotel and pool and transportation are going to be nuts and very crowded. Any opinions out there?

disney can't move people unless they have empty rooms.

so don't worry - it will be fine.

Spiceycat is right in that they can't move people unless they had empty rooms, but yes the resorts that are taking the guests from AKL are possibly going to be busier than they would have been now that the empty rooms are being filled.

I know that the Grand Floridian has asked CMs not to plan on dining there during the next month due to higher than usual occupany and the closing of Park Fare.

Disney has over 22,000 lodging units in their inventory.

AKL represents about 1000-1200 units of lodging I think. So.. approximately 5% of total room inventory.

I think in terms of Deluxe accommodations, it represents something like 20% of availability inventory. So, if AKL was completely sold out (it wasn't I assure you) then other Deluxe & DVC resorts could be 20% busier assuming even distribution of AKL guests among all other properties... which it obviously won't be.

This is a bunch of typing and long windedness to say .. while some resorts may seem busier, it's more likely given the number of guests being moved, the other resorts can absorb those numbers in most cases and you won't notice the difference.

That said -- it's summer -- Disney is generally busy anyway.
