DH, DD 7, and myself, Cammando Planner, most plans went out the window....
I still could not get this group up and moving, knowing it was an early entry day, my goals were to make our PS and to ride Kali River and do the Safari. The lines to get in at 9:30 were so backed up!! When it was our turn, the Security Guard was very efficient, if there was something illegal to discover, this man would discover it... I have our rain gear in a bag, and it had been fine to take it out and say raingear, not this guy, he wanted to examine my rain gear... ok.... but I was safer for it....
YEAH DIS'ers!! We went thru the Rainforest Cafe, you have no idea how much time and heat this saved us from!! We have a PS for 5 here too - thanks to the DIS, and a VKL to use!!
The heat ooozes up from the ground, just hot, hot , hot... egads, the line with a fastpass was 30 min for the Safari, we shopped a lot here - we did the jungles, in Asia (got the other FP) I must admit, my dd loves wildlife, she stared at the Bengal Tiger for 15 min - it amazes me, it wasnt wasting time for her!! I had a lovely discussion with the CM, she wasnt sure what to do, she was in FL colllege for Engineering but hated it, she was a Native American from AZ, I talked about my 2 boys and how they are at camp giving back (as a lifeguard my son could make $25 an hour, but goes to camp for less than$1 ah hour if you include all the night activiiteis and campfires he's required to do - that he enjoys doing - he works from 7AM - 10PM every night!) They also do a cermonial dance that the Menominee Tribe approves of... the CM talked about needing to learn her native language and teaching... she had wanted to give back, but wasnt sure, now she thought she would be happier at home in AZ!!
We get on the Safari, it was so awesome, DD took pic after pic, loving every moment...when it was done, I had to get a fastpass to do it again!! We get on the line for the Rafiki Train,,, here I lose my temper for the first time. A very rude family literally threw their 2 yr old and baby sized kid thru the windows, then tried to disingage their stroller, I was oblivious, I just got on the train with dd, then they start yelling at me to move over - what? where? huh? so I keep DD in the front row, Imove behind her, and then the lady demands her water bottles - WHAT WATER? GO AWAY (I just ignore this, but i was thinking it) then the woman has the audacity to scream loudly "we're NOT in the MIDWEST anymnore... well that does it, I'll see your rude, and raise you RUDER... and tell them that they held up the train, instead of letting the CM help them with the stroller, instead of listening to the signs that asked them to take down the stroller... well you get the idea... and then BOOM thunder lightening and rain... YEAH just what I needed, to calm my nerves was a nice relaxing rain, and it worked!! Here we met Pocohantas, she was very polite, and dh again apologizes for his gender (a nice gentleman knocked down a kid trying to get a pose with her, and the nice cm told him he would have to wait in line - amazing!!)
We saw Flights of Wonder, Pocohantas, Tarzan, and Lion King. We were impressed with Pocohantas, she sang not lipsynching - good for her!! Lion King, they had no idea what a PS for the Princess Package was (I showed them the ticket, we went in thru the exit, but got in line with all the rest, no big deal, all good seats, and we adjusted our sight lines, we were on the end 8th row up, good sights... then a CM comes over and apolgizes to the "Princess" and seats us in a front row!! WOW!! And she was picked to demonstrate the lion roar, and to play an instrument walking around... Fabulous!! Again, I amazed my dh with all my careful planning (so much of this turns out to be luck!!)
We do the Safari again, and then head to our PS for Rainforest, we didnt make the Bug Movie, but maybe next year, dd insist we can come back, she wants to do Kali and the Safari again!!
Dinner was spectacular - we order the icee with the VKL (I asked first) and he brings it to us in this HUGE souvenier drink MUG - it was HUGE - and it was included with the voucher!! I about fell off my seat!! We loved the Lobster, the Crab Cake was deleesh - everything was just perfect....
and back to the Poly and the pool, and we watch wishes from the hammock... Wed is an Enight and I have scheduled to watch wishes at the park at least one night!!
