Just wanted to post our reflections on the Disney Wish.

Port Canaveral
Embarkation was incredibly smooth. I highly recommend dropping off luggage at the port and then returning your rental car. Such a beautiful terminal, Only negative was we boarded at around 2:30pm as we had an Ohana brunch reservation at 11AM. However, since the rocket launch was planned for embarkation day, we planned a later arrival. Since we were later in the day, they did not have any kids club bands remaining.

Day 1
Loved the new safety check in. Show up, log into your app reservation, and leave. Sail away party was great as no rush to get there as safety drill was completed so leisurely. Dinner - We were seated with a great group of two other families with children similar ages: 10, 10, 12. Kids got along great. Made plans to get together post cruise. 1923 was perfectly fine for an interesting 1st night. Lots of fascinating memorabilia around the restaurant. The entry does not say 1923: it says Roy Disney and Walt Disney on two separate entrances. We had a great server team - Paulo and July. Stateroom host was also amazing. Mihaela. Could only hear neighboring staterooms on the balcony. Room was very comfy at rear of ship. But the verandah was not as extended as I expected it to be on deck 6. Going to try deck 10 next time. Deck food was great. Since DD10 did not get the kids club band at the terminal, she could not get in the club after dinner. The other kids slid down the slide and she was forced to split up and walk down to check in at the desk . Eventhough I checked her in online, they asked me all the questions from the online registration again. It took forever and by that time, the kids wanted to leave. There is also no more pick up of kids at dinner. They stopped this due to the pandemic. Disney - please bring it back so I can enjoy dinner with adults again.

Day 2

Nassau - did the Jeep Tour - it was great. We drove on the left. Private jeep per family. Stopped at the Bahamian Grill restaurant. Had a traditional Bahamian meal and lemonade. It was very yummy. Then we went on a tour of the island and stopped at caves, which most went in and explored. It was across from a beautiful beach as well. The last stop was another beach where I highly recommend the sea grapes on the tree. Yummy again. Shout out to Tour Guide Trey! And thanks for watching my kid while I swam in the Ocean :) Tweens can be so difficult. They did drive us back to the pier and we stopped in a shop for some souvenirs and then back to the cool AC and comfy accommodations of the Disney Wish. Many tours were in boats checking out the Disney Wish from the water.

Day 2 continued

The ship is absolutely beautiful. I loved the multiple pools - some are shallow and some are deep. Just keep looking for what you want. I did not love the Cove pool design. They need to fix the entry - it is a very steep ladder with a burning hot platform and burning hot rails to hold onto. We could not even attempt it. The entire deck was burning hot back there. They need more pergola/sail type coverage. We were lucky in that we had beautiful weather the entire cruise. It seemed the Aquamouse was great but I wasn't able to do it due to a disability. There is a yellow slide as well that adults and kids loved. The funnel vision was great as always. The entire ship is beautiful. I didn't like the placement of the Frozen drink/smoothie bar but drinks were great. The popsicle drinks were gorgeous and yummy. The Rose lounge - beautiful. The Bayou - beautiful. Beignets were ok. Nothing special but DD10 ate 4 sooo....

Internet package - waste of money. Barely ever worked even after paying, the ship messaging did not even work. Messages were delayed 30+ minutes or more. We used Whatsapp and it worked much better. Could not surf internet - all pages said "server cannot be found."

Room Service - menu drastically reduced. No more BLT. No more pizza. Just seemed lacking in options that were kid friendly. Service was good and trays are now plastic, which I prefer, as they are lighter to place outside.

Marvel dinner show - we loved it. Kids enjoyed it especially the option to buy specialty cups etc. The menu - ughh - not so good.

Missed the show - Little Mermaid - so sad but heard it was amazing.

Day 3

Castaway Cay - this was a bust due to our other post about the severe jellyfish or other creature stings

Did you pre-arrange to sit with the other families in the MDR? If not, nice to hear you got along so well.

That Jeep tour sounds like a great day in Nassau - I usually stay on the ship for a lack of options. You make it sound fun.

BLT off the Room Service menu is a bummer. It is my go-to when I need to eat at a weird time. It was on the Magic in April. 😢

I was on the same Wish sailing and absolutely loved the ship! So many amazing spaces and loved how pool and lounges/bars were spaced out. Think it help things to feel less crowded. And so many elegant touches throughout the ship.

We had a great time at Castaway Cay. We were in the water all day with no jelly fish issues. We did hear a life guard warning later in the day but never saw any.

The weather the whole cruise was amazing as well. It was hot but sunny and no rain!

No pre-arrangement. The dinner seat assignment was Disney magic. Our server said there is always a "single parent" table of kids similar ages.

It was weird, it was like I just needed to know I could order food I liked from room service. Not having a palatable option after midnight until morning was a little uncomfortable especially with events on board going until midnight.

Day 3

Pirate night was amazing. We all loved the Rock theme and the new show as it differed from the other ships. No pirate buffet anymore. Same pirate MDR menu as other ships and we like it so that was fine. Always like traditional rice and peas with jerk chicken. Second night in Marvel MDR had no show. They should add just movie loops or something for entertainment.

Day 4

Sea day. Relaxing. Enjoyed the Cove cafe but the pool was pretty funny how difficult it is to get in and out of the pool as the rails are blazing hot. Aladdin was awesome and is very different from the Aladdin show on the other ships. The Genie jokes were hilarious. It was packed and we had to sit on folding chairs at the back of the theatre. Dinner at Arrendale was really impressive. Loved the violin player as my daughter plays too and she enjoyed critiquing it. LOL.

Also shopped and scored the Pandora inaugural set and bracelet. Was happy with the selections.

Disembarkation

Hated it. They called all tags at once - then stopped the line at end of ramp while they cleared the baggage area. This was an issue as a handicapped person with no wheelchair, cane, etc and no way to ask for one as there was no cast member nearby. Customs was fast. Bus was uneventful and fine ride to the airport. Arrived on time for a 1pm departure.
