I am stressed beyond belief with trying to get all of this information into a $12.000 budget for a next June Wishes wedding. We have about 50 guests coming. (This 12,00 does not include any fashion-it is just ceremony/reception/decor) We plan on getting married at the Wedding Pavilion and then have the reception in a ballroom or special rooms to cut out transportation costs.

We are going to do the early ceremony.
A brunch reception. (Is it lame to have dancing/drinking so early?) Or possibly dessert party?

I have an outside photographer. Thinking of outside floral. Lots of stuff on etsy. ANY ADVICE or past brides who've made this work??

HELP!!! :confused3

I'm having a brunch ceremony on a Monday for 40 guests and I'm spending about 10,000 with just Disney before taxes. That doesn't include photography. I would think 50 for 12,000 is possible as long as you're willing to sacrifice things like the carriage, lots of floral and characters.

I'd recommend having your reception somewhere other than a ballroom that doesn't need a lot of decor! You really have to dress up a ballroom which can cost a lot more than a place like Ariel's or Atlantic Dance Hall.

It's not lame to have dancing or drinking so early, but you will save a BUNDLE by cutting out alcohol and a DJ, and people will be less inclined to expect them at an early hour. :thumbsup2

But then Transportation comes into play.

I am definitely willing to sacrifice the carriage and the characters. I am looking for outside floral to help me with that cost.

Does the Atlantic Dance Hall still have the food minimum of 100 brunch, 15 lunch, etc.?

That's true, but Idk. I guess I'm just a cheese ball and want to have my first dance with my hubby and all that cheese ball stuff. :lovestruc

Btw, you looked absolutely STUNNING on your wedding day!!

Yes, but I think transportation might be less expensive than the cost of decor. You'd have to crunch the numbers on that one. It depends on where your guests are staying and how many have cars.

If you aren't attached the the WP, Atlantic Dance Hall and Ariel's are walking distance to Sea Breeze Point, Shipwreck Beach and the Yacht Club Gazebo!

The minimums are the same for every venue!

I'm having a DJ just to make the day flow better, but you could have an iPod setup for ceremonial dances and background music.

Where are you having your ceremony/reception? I think I definitely want a DJ. Our families are big dancers, lol. Maybe if we switch to the boardwalk it'd be a lot less. The Wedding Pavilion is so expensive and takes up big chunk of the budget.

Are you having a lot of floral? I think we are going to do a Monday as well!

My ceremony is sea breeze point and my reception is at Ariel's at the Beach Club.

I'm not having too much floral... I have 4 centerpieces (which will be used as aisle decor at the ceremony), my bouquet, DFs boutonnière, flowers for the moms and my dad, a toss bouquet, flowers on my cake, chair upgrades, and napkin upgrades for right at $2,000.

The DJ is $900, and I'm having a guitarist at the ceremony and prereception for $600 :)

Aw, that sounds great :) Your PJ is beautiful. You're wedding is going to be great!

I love Ariel's at the Beach Club - especially since I am on a tight budget. My only thing is my color is like a rose pink. I'm hoping that color will work there. Not sure where else is decorated nicely already-has a dance floor-and can accomodate 50 people. :confused3

Thanks :) I'm using blush, mint and navy at Ariel's, which has a dance floor and can accommodate 50! Good luck deciding!

My daughter just did a basic walk through of possible venues, she's looking at October to maybe the first week of November 2014 for her wedding. She's also set for 50 people and looking at a brunch ceremony. We're planning on drinking and dancing looking at it this way...we're regular disney goers (AP holders who live in Florida) and when we vacation we're up early, we often hit places like la cava or a pool bar around 11 or noon when they open plus our side of the family at least is very outgoing and dancing is something multiple generations of us enjoy so I certainly don't think it's silly. We too are looking at cutting out transportation by booking close wedding and reception venues. My daughter says it's her day and she will want to dance no matter who else joins her and we will all need a drink if we survive the grooms side of the family so a bar it is lol...besides in your memories and your photos you won't care if you drank and danced at 11am. it's the one and only first wedding you will ever have so (within reason and budget of course) you should do the things that are most important to you and your groom.

Also keep in mind that the wedding pavilion is $1000 more than any other venue ($3300 vs $2300 in 2014). Like you, we want to minimize transportation costs. We're looking at the wedding gazebo, sea breeze point, the attic, and Ariel's. The attic and Ariel's, we figure, should not need much decor because of existing theming. We're trying to avoid ballrooms because we think they'd need a lot more decor and floral.

ugh...don't i know it lol. i'd love to use those venues but i have a soon to be 24 y/o beauty and the beast fanatic who is skeptical about an outdoor wedding so the wedding pavilion then a ballroom seems to be the way we're going lol (if we get that venue...otherwise france or uk at epcot are her 2nd choices but then adds back in transportation of course). She's doing a brooch bouquet and similar for the grooms side and mirrors for the bridesmaids to carry plus wants a simple rose under glass for the tables so that cuts way down on the floral to help offset the cost too.
