Anyone have around the same number of guests? We were curious how much (minimum) we can expect to pay for our cake? Also, how are the florists for the wishes wedding in WDW? Do they have reasonable options? Our main concern is centerpieces as we have a lot of tables..

Disney's cakes range from $7.50-$17.50 per slice, so that's, what, $1,350-$3,150 for the cake.

BUT, if you got a cake that was big enough to serve 80 people (like a 3-tier cake) and then bought a sheet cake to serve 100 (which costs $120), you'd only pay $720-$1,520 for cake! :thumbsup2

Disney's floral prices are kinda high, but they are good about working with you to get the cost down by changing the size, the type of flowers, etc. You can also use an outside vendor for floral if your event isn't inside one of the theme parks. Sometimes this can save money, but sometimes it costs the same as what Disney would charge.

It's a big flat cake like the ones you see in the grocery store, only with no decoration - just a couple layers of cake and frosting.

It would be made in the same flavor as your fancy wedding cake but for a LOT cheaper. Since Disney peels off the the decorative fondant/outside layer of the fancy cake before serving it, your guests won't know whether they're getting a piece from the fancy one or the sheet cake stashed in the kitchen. :thumbsup2

I have 154 people coming to our wedding and I did what Carrie said. i got a cake for 50 people (okay a bit smaller than what Carrie said) and a sheet cake for 100. My cake at $8.50 a slicecomes out to $452.63 and the sheet cake was $159.75 for a grand total of $612.38

That's just the cake. Then the service fee's (cake handling fees) was about $120.00.

while we only had 100 guests out cake was made for 200
(we wanted a certain size) anyway it ended up being right at 1,500

also you dont have to put the same arrangement on every table
if you had some large and some small (or tall and short) that would save lots
of money on flowers (or some tables with flowers, some without)

That seems like a reasonable price for us. I like the idea of getting a smaller cake and a sheet cake. Does the price you are paying for the 50 person cake include much decoration, or is it quite basic. How about filling wise? We want our smaller cake to look as elaborate as possible. Just curious what that price included for you decor wise. Are you using fresh flowers on the cake etc? Are you using the sheet cake at the base of your 50 person cake or will it be out back? I have seen cakes where the sheet cake is a large base for the smaller cake. Sorry long post!

Yes, the smaller cake will be completely decorated (for most weddings, it is the only cake!) and it can look however you want! Disney has a large library of standard designs to choose from, or you can send them a picture from a magazine to re-create.

Disney doesn't put the sheet cake under the fancy cake. But I guess they would if you wanted it that way.
