WISHES vs HAPPILY EVER AFTER

The Wishes main soundtrack beats HEA for sure...but I have to say that the show as a whole is a great replacement. I LOVE the addition of the following tunes that we really don't hear often:
- Down in New Orleans (Prologue) -> Princess and the Frog
- Out There - Hunchback of Notre Dame (LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS CHORUS!!!)
- Trashin' the Camp -> Tarzan
- You'll be in my Heart -> Tarzan
- Touch the Sky -> Brave
- I See the Light -> Tangled
- I will go the distance -> Hercules
- Love is an Open Door (HEA special arrangement) - Frozen

I find HEA makes better use of these Disney song snippets.
I also find the projection show AMAZING and able to evoke emotion.
I'm so glad that Tink still flies in the show.

I think time will make HEA the new standard. It has only just begun. It has not built a spot in our hearts yet...but I think it definitely has the potential to do so.

My only dismay about it (if you want to call it a dismay) is that because it is more Projection centric, trying to watch the show from the Contemporary or Poly is basically not nearly as good anymore. I don't think I'd be out of line in saying you really CAN'T watch the MK night show from anywhere else, anymore.

We enjoyed HEA from the BLT bridge a few times during our week trip. The fireworks actually go great with the music even without the projections. But I see the point that it's become a much more castle-dependent show

We watched it from Crystal Palace, so I couldn't see all the projections but I thought it was amazing. I guess I don't know what the theme is, what's it supposed to be?

I think it's a little funny that PP's didn't like Wishes because the theme wasn't true. Isn't that why a lot of people enjoy going to Disney - because of the whimsy and fantasy? Wishes was a feel good show for me, whether the idea of making a wish coming true was reality or not. It always gave me hope. It was part of the escape for me. And wishes/dreams are what Walt was all about, ie. a dream is a wish your heart makes, if you can dream it you can do it.

I grew up in a lower class family in SoCal. On our birthdays my brother and I many years were able to pick either a trip to Knotts Berry Farm or Disneyland. In those days, you got a little ticket booklet with 5 E Ticket rides, and when those were gone, they were gone. They introduced the MSEP when I was a teen, and I thought it was the most magical thing I had ever seen.

OP, good for you for saving all that money to have your dream trip with your sister!

We now have been able to take our kids often to WDW, rent at the Vistana which lets us stay 2 weeks with multiple park days and my kids have no idea what it is like to work so hard for something special. I hope you find new magic that makes you at "home" in your heart!

I was really struggling with this before my trip last week. I am a devoted Wishes fan. I listen to the soundtrack in the car, I watch videos of it on YouTube and I have a Wishes tattoo (Just Believe) on the inside of my wrist. So I was VERY apprehensive going into the show. That being said, I loved HEA. I was full on sobbing halfway through the show. It resonated with me on so many levels. I'll always love Wishes but I do feel HEA now has a special place in my heart too.

UPDATE: since this post I have seen HEA to the full extent. The Narrator at the end talking about making your dreams happen makes me sob everytime. It’s become very magical to me and I think I now like it more than Wishes! Talk about taking a foot outta my mouth
