Wishes vs Electrical Water Pageant

After prowling the boards the weeks leading up to our WDW trip, we decided on one of the nights, we would have dinner at the Polynesian so we could explore the hotel and then catch a glimpse of Wishes from the beach. We scoped out a spot and waited for a bit, ready for a romantic fireworks viewing. Just as Wishes was starting, this silly music and a neon dragon sailed across the lagoon, and hubby and I just started laughing and shaking out heads as this is not what we were expecting. How in the world was I not aware that the Electrical Water Pageant would pass by the same time?? Were we not sitting in the right place?? LOL

there must have been some kind of scheduling mistake. The EWP is usually 1 hour (I think) before Wishes.

It is not an hour before Wishes. EWP starts at 9 pm every night, but they are supposed to push it back a few minutes when Wishes is also at 9. But we have also experienced what the PP did, where they were happening simultaneously. That's not usually the case though.
