Wishes Questions

Hi,
My DH and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary at WDW this January 3. Right now we have an 8:00 PS at Jiko but I just noticed that the MK will be open till 10 that night with Wishes at 10. Do you think we would able to make there from the AKL in time? Is there anywhere that we could get a good view arriving so late? Would you change your PS in order to see Wishes? (We are usually late evening diners.) Any other tips would be appreciated.

Depends on how much time you need for your meal. If it was me, I would probably do 7:30, leave 8:30-8:45, 30 minutes to MK, gets you there about 9:15.

I agree with jsmla,

Keep in mind that the earlier you arrive the better choice of location to view fireworks. I've watched wishes from multiple locations and in my humble opinion you only "really" see them as they were meant to be seen looking down main street towards the castle.

I agree. When my DH and I went, we were really tired one afternoon. About 5:30 we sat on top of the railroad station and just talked. Before we knew it, it was almost 7:00 and the railroad station was crowded. So we just figured to sit there and watch people until the parade/fireworks started. Sitting right in front on top of there was the best seat we could have ever had!

I agree too. I had heard there was good viewing all over but for the first time we watched them we did it on main st and they were wonderful. Since I heard the viewing was good all over, we tried the covered seating at the Plaza but the lights stayed on and it was so noisy with people we ran over to the bridge to tomorowland. Again, the angle was very off adn kind of a downer for us.
That said, I don't think you need to stake out your time early, we walked in teh gate 5 minutes before it was to start and just walked down main st halfway and stopped. lots of people but you could still move around.

We decided to move our PS to 7:30 just to make sure. We didn't get to see Wishes this past summer and I'm looking foreward to it!
