I don't know much about "Wishes" but I am assuming that it is fireworks display in MK. Is there a schedule for this and how will I know when it takes place? We have PS the first night we get in for Ohana's and it would be nice to get that kind of a welcome from Wishes our first night.
What can you tell me?

Darlene

yes, wishes is the fireworks for Magic Kingdom. the daily schedule can be found at www.disney.go.com then select calendar. if your trip is not w/in the next 2 monthes the schedule/park hours may not be posted yet. good luck! :teleport: :earboy2:

Thanks but there is nothing on that site for wishes--actually there is no calendar link I can find at all--seems like it is mostly for kids! I went to the WDW official site and with some work was able to find a calendar, but only park hours and no specifics at all--Can't imagine I am doing anything wrong here...guess I will just have to wait till I get there.

Heres a link to the info we have right here on the Dis with the park hours, fireworks & parades. http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/hours.htm

If Wishes is scheduled for before or after your dinner at Ohana, you can always go out to the beach and watch from there. If its during your meal, you have a chance of seeing it if you get a window seat, but keep in mind, thats not a guarantee. There is a whole separate section that is no where near the windows. In fact, we have been seated there both times we ate there...even when requesting a window on DH's birthday...not even during Wishes time.
Good luck!

Don't miss Wishes! It was so awesome. If you are not in the Park, you will miss the music that goes along with the fireworks. Have fun!

Actually we have been able to hear the soundtrack at the marina at the Poly.

If I remember correctly your going the same week as my family. Wishes is scheduled for 1/31, 2/1 and 1/4. Spectromagic is on 1/31 and 1/3. We are going 1/30-2/5. I think our weeks overlap or something. Have a good trip,
Tara

Darlene-
Check out disney.go.com site. Go to the calender page and actually click on the date that you have questions about. It will show you the times of parades and fireworks for the park you choose. They have added some firework nights since the last time I checked. 2/1@7:00, 2/3@ 7:00, 2/4@ 7:00 and 2/5@ 8:00. I am so happy that there are more nights added. We watched them 3 times our last trip. This trip will be the first time to watch illuminations. It is so late for the little guys.

Hey Tara,
I went to this site and I can't find a calendar page anywhere, I feel like an idiot of course now that two people have told me...Where do I click when I get the intro screen--Lost!!

Darlene

I figured it out---When I copied and pasted your url> disney.go.com it gave me something totally different than disneyworld.disney.go.com...WOW, mystery solved --How confusing. Maybe they are linked somehow, but they are not the same when you copy and paste.

Thanks for the info!

And lucky me it does have wishes at 8pm on the night we arrive!

When you get to the disney.go.com site. Click on the castle (disney destinations) Hit WDW. The next screen will show a picture of the earth and sky. Right under that picture on the right will say in little letters dining finder. Right next to that it says calendar. Click on the calendar and cose your month. You can click on the actual date that you are interested in for parade and firework info. You can also change the park so that you can find info about other activities. You are not an idiot. It took me a while to find it. They put it in the smallest font. When you arrive at the parks they have pamphlets that you can get that is called the timekeeper (I think). These are important to get because they are very helpful. Have you been the the park before with your kids? This is our 2nd family trip so I learned a little last Feb. This will be our first time staying onsite though.

Good, I am glad everything is working out for you. Have a great trip. I am going to attempt a trip report after this trip. You should give it a try as well.

I have been to Disney World the first year it opened with my parents and about twice more in the1970's--never with "my" family. SHould be interesting.

Maybe I will see you at the lodge!
