Which do you like better? I'm trying to figure out which one we should go to at night. Thanks!:Pinkbounc

My vote is definitely Illuminations. It's by far my favorite nighttime fireworks show. But, our party is all adults. Maybe if you have young kids with you, one of the other 2 may be more appealing. DS is in college, and he's already informed me that next trip, he wouldn't mind if we saw Illuminations every night we're there.

Both are great -- but Illuminations wins out.
We saw Illuminations last night. While killing time beforehand, I overheard a young gal wanting to leave. She said -- You seen one fireworks show, you've seen them all.
She obviously has not seen Illuminations.

I prefer the new Wishes. I was really disappointed when they made changes a few years ago to Illuminations. I preferred the old show. I saw Wishes for the first time in December. What a spectacular show! Wishes is now a "must see" for us. Illuminations I can skip, but I have seen it several times. Can you not make both? Depending on the time of year you go you can make both. Watch the earlier show at MK then hop the monorail to EPCOT for Illuminations when the park closes. You are going to enjoy either show. They are both great!

Well I'm planning on only going to one park but now you have me wondering...if it starts when the park closes do you still need to pay admission to see it in the park? If so we'll definitely go to both. We're getting to our hotel Friday afternoon so our park day will be Saturday.

As far as I know you do have to pay park admission because the show takes place on the Seven Seas Lagoon in the middle of the park where Future World and the World Show case join. You can see the high fireworks from several places outside the parks, but the rest of the show is on the water so you have to be there to see it all. What age group do you have? If you are only going to one park you might want to make it EPCOT anyway depending on who is going. MK is what you expect to see when you go to Disney, all the classic rides, atmosphere, etc. I just took for granted that you were going to have a pass to be able to go into more than one park. Sorry for that assumption. If you need help on which park to pick, there are lots of opinions here and we would all be happy to answer any questions you might have.

I can't choose because I like them both for different reasons. Can you do both? You can see Wishes with the words piped in at the boat ramp to get over to the park.....so if you can time it right? you may be able to see both without going into the Magic Kingdom. You would have to hustle for that though.

Well I think it will definitely be MK since we have ressies for the Cinderella breakfast there anyways. My thoughts were that if Illuminations was that great I might just snag a 2 day hopper pass....it would only be worth the $$$ though if we stayed for fireworks since we're not getting in on Friday until around 3ish. My mom says just stick with one day at MK since lord only knows if the flight and all that will really end up being on time. Now I wish we were staying longer but we're going on the cruise starting Sunday so it's not like we're not going to still be having fun. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Just would be great to start the trip off the first night with fireworks :teeth:
