Wishes in September

Again, this same problem with the MK calendar showing MK with early closings and speculation about early MNNSHP happened last year. So, I went back and looked at last year's posts and on March 13, 2015 Disney updated MK calendar times.

Therefore, my educated guess would be to expect the same update around the time of March 13th of this year.

If Wishes and MSEP aren't listed by then ~ well maybe then there will be a reason to worry and vent but until there is a firm calendar in place for September, which there obviously isn't yet, I think it's just a waiting game.

Disney doesn't care that their guests need to plan their itinerary months in advance in order to secure ideal restaurants and times pursuant to the Disney 180 ADR policy .

Will they have MNSSHP on 9/8?? I don't want to go to the party, but that is my MK day as of now. Seems so early, but with a 7pm closing as of right now....should I assume that??

Does anybody know if all the MK dates that were originally scheduled to close at 7 turned into party nights? Or did the times change after the party night announcements came out?

Right, but we did have MNSSHP dates a couple of weeks before they updated those hours..so we knew what days would be updated. That made doing our ADRs much easier.

This is all just frustrating lol. I have a plan now but I am figuring I am going to have to re do all of it. I hate doing the guessing game when it comes to hard-to-get ADRs!

The 2015 MK calendar had MK closing at 7:00pm on Sept. 1st, 4th and 7th. The updated calendar then changed the times with MK closing at 10pm on Sept. 1st, 4th and 7th ~NONE of these dates were MNSSHP nights.

Indeed, the first MNSSHP for 2015 was September 15th and in all likelihood will be around the 15th this year again since Labor Day is late this year just like it was last year and the MNSSHP historically doesn't start until after Labor Day.

Yes KT0191, that is true the Disney Park Blog announced the party dates on February 25, 2015 but people were still speculating that there would be parties added since the MK calendar times were not changed with the Feb, 25th announcement ~still reflecting 7pm closing times for 1st, 4th and 7th of Sept. until the park times changed on March 15, 2015.

I agree - the guessing game is no fun & I have no interest in re-doing my plans.

FWIW I emailed Disney last night regarding Fairy G and mentioned Wishes and MSEP. I got a call back today and he says they are working in the MSEP and Wishes into the Sept schedules. I mentioned my ADR window opens Monday and he said those dates should be available in the next day or so. Time will tell I suppose. At least it appears they don't seem to plan on not having them both in the month of Sept.

Just a heads up..they have Wishes scheduled on 9/5 and 9/6 for 9 pm on the Disney website. (They also have MK closing at 9 pm vs 8 pm) Wishes hasn't been added to the TA list yet.
No MSEP listed though.

I am soooo happy to hear this! I have been holding my breath hoping that they would eventually start filling in the "missing" Wishes. If nothing had changed then the 4th would have been the only Wishes scheduled during our 9 day stay!! How crazy-crowded would that have been??? Cut-backs or no... I couldn't imagine WDW having NO WISHES for 19 consecutive nights!!

This is true, however they have had years where MNSSHP have started the first week of Sept.(2008, 2009, 2014), so it is possible those early September days could be parties.

Thank you so much for this! I'm planning our family's first-ever trip to WDW for September - for 12 people. It's been so much to learn, so this potential no Wishes/MSEP for our entire stay was (is) a bump in the road I did not want to deal with.
Now the fun(?) of making my first ADRs can begin!

I do think there's a really good chance the parties won't be before the 2nd week of Sept., however I'm not so sure how much Labor Day has to do with it. - In 2009 the first party was Sept. 4th and Labor Day was Sept. 7th. This year Labor day is Sept. 5th, so earlier. In 2012 Labor day was on September 3rd, yet no party til the 2nd full week of Sept. Same with 2013 (labor day on the 2nd, yet no party til later.) So I'm not sure if Labor day is Disney's rhyme/reason.

Following! We haven't booked yet - waiting on FD to be announced but that's really a whole 'nother thread. BUT we are planning mid-late Sept and really need Wishes to be on the schedule.

I'm not sure why you think I gave incorrect info. If anything I think I was more exact and detailed. I did not at all try to lead anyone to believe that I "knew" either way about it when the parties would start and was very clear explaining that from the facts there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to when Disney choses to hold parties. You stated that Disney would not be having early parties this year (which as I stated I think is likely true), but your reasoning about Labor day doesn't seem to follow the historic facts.

I'm in the same boat you are. ADR's open on 3/7 for us and I would really like to know if I should leave a night open for MNSSHP on the 8th or not. To make it worse I'm not only planning for my family but for another family we're travelling with so I'm feeling more pressure than usual to get things right. I love Disney but it's hard to pre-plan 180 days out if we don't have all the needed info.

Agree completely. I am going to be there from 9/10-9/17 and I'm hoping we get some clarification on MSEP, Wishes, and MNSSHP by the time my ADR window opens in 2 weeks (3/14)

We'll be there 9/11 - 9/18 so my ADR date is 3/15. I'd love to know about MSEP and Wishes so that I can plan park days and restaurants. Stressed out here! I would HATE to not see Wishes.

We're in the same boat! We will be there 9/9 - 9/18, so our ADR date is 3/13. Definitely getting nervous as our date gets closer. We're working on a plan as if there were Wishes every night and guessing on MSEP nights using past experiences. And I agree, it would be awful not to get to see Wishes, it wouldnt be the same!! Hopefully we get some more updates soon!
