Wishes from the Poly

... have ADR for ohana for dinner. Should we try to make it back to MK to watch Wishes...or is it just as good from the Poly beach? (I've seen it from MK, and LOVE it.... don't want to be disappointed in watching it from Poly beach...but maybe it will be just as good and a "new" experience?) What's it like? Is music piped into the beach? Can you hear it from everywhere on the beach? Can you see fireworks well?

Wishes is great from the poly beach....they pipe the music into the bar....but it is low.
WTS....it is WAY better in the park....no tink....music loud...etc.
But after that...I think the poly is the best.

We have watched Wishes from inside Ohana before... Unfortuantely it's not the best. If you get a window seat that is facing the MK, the veiw of the Fireworks are good. However, you can't hear the music.

I haven't tried watching them from the Poly's beach...

I have seen Wishes from both the Magic Kingdom and the beach at the Polynesian. Personally I thought watching them from the Polynesian was great because the music sounded the exactly same and it almost felt like you were in the park.

I enjoy watching Wishes from the Poly beach. It's amazing from that distance just how high above the castle the fireworks really are - you don't realize it when you're in the park. We always try to watch once from the park and once from the beach each trip.

You can't really hear the music if you're sitting on the beach, but it's piped in near the walkway along the beach.

I would say this would be a good "new" experience. I like both for the different ambiance. In the park you feel the excitement build, and from the Poly it's a more relaxing experience. And you can see Tink if you watch the castle at the right time!

We loved watching wish on the beach at poly.

Two years ago we watched from Ohana's our table wasn't near the window but we turned and looked out. Music was piped in and food service was stopped during the fireworks. It was a neat way to watch.

It is a different, alternative experience. If you have seen from the park, give it a try from the Polynesian.

I'm assuming anyone can watch from the beach not just resort guests? How early do you have to get there to find a spot to watch? We're going in Feb '09

Yes anyone can watch Wishes from there. As for places to actually sit there is not a lot of them, however there is plenty of room around the beach so you should have a good view.

Try to get one of the hammocks. That's a great spot to watch Wishes from.

As said earlier, anyone can watch from the beach. Now ... blasphemous I know ... but that is the only way I have ever seen Wishes. I'm a fuddy duddy and am just too tired to last in the park until that time (though I did make it thru Illuminations!). Anyway ... actually I never hear the music but the Electric Water Pagent (probably my old brain just screwed up the name) is great to see too from the Poly Beach.

PS: Try to score a lounge chair ... the hammock was uncomfortable. Also, remember to bring a jacket. Now I was always there in cooler weather and it was very chilly on the beach. You can sit on the edge of the sidewalk (or the sand too) ... but we found the lounge chairs the best!
