Wishes from Poly?

I'm just hoping my son loves CR.. Because he absolutely loved Poly and asks to go back...may be a factor that his fave character is Stitch lol.. But again..I just couldn't justify their Thanksgiving prices. It's crazy. He has no idea we're going to Disney World though. So instead of going back to the airport after the cruise..the shuttle will end up in the world . I'm thinking the surprise will be exciting for him.

It's even more of a bummer when you're paying to stay there and can't get a chair on the beach.

Like I said, there were maybe only 10 of us on the beach and we weren't in anyone's way. I think if the beach isn't crowed, people staying at the Poly shouldn't have too much problem with visitors. I had never been there before, and there were literally maybe 3 chairs on the beach, so I thought that was a bit of a bummer. I respect that people who are staying at that resort should have the ability to enjoy the show from the beach.

No, If beach isn't crowded and there are chairs avail for people staying at Poly, it wouldn't be a problem, when we stayed before bungalows the usable beach area was huge, with plenty of lounges and it was never a problem. Now with the usable beach area cut down to a postage stamp and way less chairs, it can be :-( sad.

We loved that view too! We had our pool noodles and floated around watching wishes last Aug. Our prior trip in January it was too cold to enjoy that!

Officially, all the Poly beaches are reserved for Poly guests only. They just choose not to enforce this except for New Years Eve, July 3rd and July 4th.

Oh lol. I didn't know that. Not to sound like a jerk, but for example we are staying at CR on our next trip in conjunction with our cruise. Poly was first choice but I'm unwilling to pay over $800 per night for that week. I debated not doing a tpv room..just was worried that my son would be disappointed. That being said- if I would have done a different room, not able to watch fireworks from my balcony, and paid their obscene thanksgiving prices... I would have been very upset with overcrowded beaches due to non guests.
I'll add that I'll admit I'm a little jaded lol. Last time I was at Atlantis I emailed them concerning their obnoxious crowds as a result of greediness. I've been there 16 times..I understand that isn't exactly frequent flyer status.. But I informed them that I won't be back. When you charge the prices they do for rooms etc..they then shouldn't sell aquaventure tickets by the hundreds. It's overcrowded and just in my opinion- ridiculous.

Perfect solution? Go to the patio at Trader Sam's. You can hear the music there (it's piped in, where at the beach you have to hear from either the CL building or the patio area) and you are a customer so you aren't taking anything away from anyone. Just don't go and not order

I love hearing the music from Trader Sam's all day! Omg this entire thread is making me want to switch my November reservations lol. BUT the big plus of CR..my son won't be begging to go down a volcano slide..I'm NOT getting in a pool that time of year.

Yeah, that would be a disappointment for sure. It's tricky!
