We are trying to watch wishes from not inside MK and heard poly beach would be ok to watch. But wouldnt the Contempory be closer? I would also like to watch the Electric water parade...where would be the best place to view everything?

We watched Wishes from the beach at the Poly last year and it was a great view. The Poly beach faces the MK the Contemp is to the right when facing MK. Im sure someone whos seen Wishes from the Contemp will chime in.

I didnt think about that...i wanted a close view but not a side view. So im guessing Poly is the best place.

Last October, we (dw and I) had late ADRs at O'hana. We had 20 minutes from the end of Wishes to get to poly. Our original plan was to catch wishes toward the front of the park, and head over. By evening, we were wiped out and concerned we would stress ourselves out in the tight schedule. So, we left the park and took a boat over to poly.

Out on the beach, we found a lounger to share. There were several others out there. There was nobody within 10 feet of us, which was nice (and quite romantic) after a day of lines and crowds . We had a great view of the fireworks, and about 3 minutes in, we saw a dragon out on the lake... We didn't even know about the Electric Water Parade, but watched it pass by as wishes continued in the background.

Don't know if the timing of these two line up, but it was one of those "magical moments" you hope to experience on a Disney Vacation. BTW, O'hana was delicious.

As far as where to sit, just find a spot where you can clearly see the castle, and you know your set.
Be warned, you do miss on the synched music and tinkerbell entry from this spot.

The best place for Wishes outside the park is The Poly beach. If you get there early enough,be sure to snag one of the hammocks. That's the ultimate place to view the fireworks and the EWP.

My SO and I watched from the Poly beach and it was great. It was also deserted and quite romantic.

Also, there's lots of romantic places to watch the water Electrical Parade in Fort Wilderness.
