I have a FP+ for Wishes. The arrival time is between 9:40 & 9:50. I know they have a castle lighting show around 9:45. Do they allow you in the viewing area before 9:40?

Yes. I'd be there by 9:20.

Just a personal experience and I don't know if this happens all the time.
We were there this past Saturday and our fp for Wishes had the same times as yours. We are locals so were not really rushing. We were sitting inside the trains tation just eating some snacks and waiting on our fp time but I decided to walk to the area early just to see if there was a line. We went over taking the backstage route (by Tony's) that they had opened up and got to the east side Wishes viewing area in front of the Plaza restaurant and were surprised to see people already inside. When we approached the fp entrance to CM were scanning, ours got blue but he checked his little monitor thing and turned them green for us. Also there was a sign under where it said that that was a fp entrance that they were allowing entrance to the area starting at 8pm. Now I don't know if this little sign is removable or not, so I don'y know if it happens all the time. Matbe some other people that have done it will tell us their experience.
Anyways we went in and sat in the back part of the area closer to where tinkerbell flies by and had an awesome spot, could see Celebrate The Magic clearly.

I have seen that sign in some new pictures of the FP+ viewing area. Did you get to view (or can you) the electrical parade from that spot?

you could only see the top of the higher floats. I didn't go closer to the street, I just stayed in the far right side of the fp area. So I don't know if you go to the far left you would be able to see the parade better

Were you required to sit or stand? How packed was it? I've done Wishes FP 3 times in the Rose Garden but next Sunday will be the first time in the new locations. I am hoping to be able to sit on the astro turf (assuming that what it is like in the rose garden) give my pour old knees a rest. There will be gaggle of us my 3 daughters, 1 bf, and 3 grandkids. Knowing that I can enter early helps with plan to treat grandkids to Mickey's kitchen sink (while daughters could go enjoy Space Mountain)...I'm sure line will be huge.

everyone inside the area was sitting down, minus a couple of dads thatw ere standing but in front of a bush so it didn't bother anyone. You can sit on the astro turf or they have a little ledge along the perimeter where the plants are, that's where I sat because it was a little elevated and I can't sit on the plain ground for too long.
It wasn't crowded at all, everyone had their little area, it was kinda annoying when late comers (not really late, I guess they waited for their fp time) came in around 9:45 and they walked in front of you blocking the view of celebrate the magic but they just walked by and grabbed their own spots so not a big deal
I think they are opening the area early as to not create a line. When we got there there was no line to get in, even later around 9:30pm it only grew to about 3 or 4 families
My daughter was able to come and go, she went to the bathroom and to get some snacks a couple of times

I will definitely look for the ledge, that would be preferable to the ground.. THANKS!! for the info

Just a follow up question: We have ADR's at Liberty Tree for 7:00pm. I was planning to view the electrical 9:00pm parade from Liberty Square area and then head to the Wishes FP+ area. Do I have enough time to get there by 9:30PM?

It's just inches from the ground so not really that high, but much more comfortable than the ground for me

You should have time

The front of the parade won't reach Liberty Square until about 9:15. It won't be over in LS until about 9:30.
So... no.

In fact, depending on the crowd level on your night, it might not be possible for you to get to the FP+ area by the start of Celebrate the Magic.

Thanks, Robo. I guess we will have to view the parade close to Main Street (ugh)
