Wishes FP+ Ending

The "new Wishes Dessert Party location" was one the very first major lengthy discussions when they stopped offering FP+.
The final drill-down is that it doesn't look like that's the plan.
Yes I doubt they would have the dessert party there because it is not covered but they could offer dining packages to be able to use the FP area.

But they would still have to staff the area. That's what we're assuming the issue is.

But for dining packages isn't there an upcharge? That would easily pay for the staffing, no? When I looked at the F! dining, I decided not to do it, because it cost much more, and I am not a big eater.

I really liked being able to get a FP+ for Wishes last year, it would stink if they no longer offer it permanently.

There is enough income at Disney to pay to staff everything now.

One thing to consider (and there are so many possibilities on so many threads) is that they are using the cost of CM "show wranglers"
at MK Wishes, and moving those jobs/paychecks (if not the same CMs) over to DAK to "wrangle guests" at the new Rivers of Life seating areas.
(It looks like the TIMING would match, if leaks and rumors are nearly correct.)

Yes but you would think they could hire more to do both jobs.

I agree that Disney should have more than enough money to pay for staff in that area. But I also think they make enough on BBB to continue to have the Fairy Godmother meeting outside. This isn't about whether a given area pays for itself. It's about whether they think they can get by without paying that staff so they can have even higher profits.

I agree that dining packages should be able to pay for it with a surcharge. But maybe they already fill the restaurants without needing to offer a FP package.

I'm just saying that a lot of this doesn't make sense when it comes right down to it.

No it doesn't make sense to me either. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.

Crap. I just saw this. I really loved using FP+ for Wishes in December when it was super crazy crowded. Another cut :(.

Sorry for being OT, but for the time left that they do have the FP+ area, is there any place better than the others to stand? We're doing it tonight. :) thanks!

Is this confirmed, no more FP+ for wishes? I thought those areas were designed for that around the Plaza and Caseys. Will those areas be opened to the public now to gather in?

1. As "confirmed" as anything can be, considering there are no FP+ available any longer after the April 18 and those who originally had confirmed dates after that have gotten cancellation notices. And, Cast Members inside the loop have confirmed as much.
2. They were/are. There are FP+ readers built into the entrances of those areas.
3. We don't know, but unless Disney has other plans for those areas during Wishes, there'd be no reason to keep them closed.

Thanks! I guess they can remove the FP+ readers but it seems silly all the years of planning to just shut it down. Plus I think it helps those like my family that reserve a FP for Wishes aren't picking from the pot all day long because we are tied into the late night FP+

I know as of right now it's anyone's guess and pure speculation. But, for the veterans who have been through Disney debuting a new experience as big as RoL before-do you think there's a chance this is just temporary? Has Disney done something like this before? To possibly funnel guests wanting a nighttime show FP experience over to RoL, and the extra CM man power to work the debut craziness? That hope exists after the debut hype wears down, they'll re-open Wishes FP? Again, I do know officially it's "wait and see". And it might be silly just HOW much the thought of loosing Wishes FP disappoints me. But, this is huge for my family. Even with all the other current changes, this is the singular thing that stings me the most.

Disney does not need to funnel guests into the ROL experience. The demand is there already.

No, not to FUNNEL guests over to RoL.

BUT, it has been speculated by quite a few Disney fans that the CM salaries that funded the operation of the FP+ areas at MK
COULD be moved over to fund CMs at RoL, just as a cost-offset measure.

Don't know, but that has been discussed (along with about everything else in regard to this
sad and puzzling situation.)
