Wishes Fireworks - Start Date?

This site has the new Wishes Fireworks starting on October 6th? http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/oct03fw.cfm Can anyone confirm that? The official site is still saying FITS.

I was told that WDW is very slow in changing their web site. There have been numerous posts showing official press releases saying Wishes will start in October

I have also heard that it will start in October, I was just curious as to When in October (exact date) since I will be there from October 3rd - 12th. Thank you!

Bummer, it sounds like we will miss the new fw show by a few days!

Makes a great excuse for the return trip, though.

I heard the official date is Oct 8th but they may have some "previews" in late Sept/early Oct.

I thought fireworks were fireworks. What will be different from FITS?

Well, if it is starting Oct. 6th that stinks, as we will be there for MNSSHP on the 5th! I would have thought they would debut it in time for the first MNSSHP on the 3rd

the MNSSHP fireworks are different than Fantasy in the Sky

MrsMud... You won't be diappointed in the fireworks at MNSSHP. They are very good.

Okay, now I feel better! So how are they different? Actually, I've never even seen FITS, LOL! I'm sure we won't be disappointed, I just thought it would be cool to see "the new" fireworks.

FITS fireworks are my least favorite fireworks of the 3 that are currently at WDW. FITS - MK, Illuminations - Epcot, and Fantasmic - MGM. The only thing that FITS has going for it in my opinion is that the foreground of the fireworks is the castle, which makes it magical, IMO, the fireworks display is not that great, it just seems like a few fireworks go off behind the castle and its done. On the other hand the display that they do a MNSSHP is awesome, it feels like fireworks are going off all around you and it goes for a long time. Wishes actually sounds like it will be a bit more like the ones at MNSSHP, from what I have read they will be launching the fireworks from more sites than they currently do with FITS and there are more fireworks than at FITS.
