Wishes, Fantasmic or Illuminations?

Which one should we cross off our list? We can only do 2 of the 3. Have seen Fantasmic (love it) and Illuminations (like it). Your input is appreciated.

If you haven't seen Wishes, I'd say definitely plan to see it. Then flip a coin between the other two, or go with whichever you liked better. Food for thought though, if you are time-limited for the trip, don't forget that for Fantasmic you have to line up early for the show, thereby losing park time (unless you buy the dinner package). For Illuminations, the "best" spots require getting there early, but you can almost always walk right up ten minutes before the show and get a decent spot.

Okay, just my humble little opinion, but I would do the Wishes (not to be missed) and Fantasmic. I used to love Illuminations, but it's changed a lot since I saw it 3 years ago. We saw Illuminations a couple of times last week and I was really disappointed. It seems like they have changed it and took out some of the fireworks that they used to do (to save money maybe? ) and added this big ball of fire in the center of the Lake. Anyway, I would do Wishes and Fantasmic. Have a great time!!

We were able to Wishes and Fantasmic on the same night- I guess since MK was open so late. I didn't get a chance to do Illuminations, but I really liked Fantasmic and Spectromagic. For me Wishes wasn't as special as those 2.

If you loved Fantasmic. . . see it again! You don't want to miss something you love!
And since you didn't seem to feel too strongly about Illuminations . . .see Wishes!

(I love them all, so I could never choose!)

I would skip Illuminations since you have already seen it.

Fantasmic is in my opinion, the best night time show Disney does!

And we love the fireworks over the Castle.

You must see Wishes by all means. I seen it twice last year. Once from Poly and then from Main Street. It was awsome. I taped the who show. Every time I need a Disney Fix I pop it into my DVD player and just enjoy. I have Spectromagic on same DVD. My second choice would be Fantasmic unless you can see Illumination from one of the cruise then I would do that. Seeing Illumination from the cruise is all together a different experience.

First and foremost I LOVE Wishes! It is an absolute must for us. If you can only do two evening events, I'd skip both Illuminations and Fantasmic and head to HDDR.

I've never seen Fantasmic, but between Wishes and Illuminations I would pick Wishes hands down. I LOVE Wishes!

Wishes is something you have to see if you have not. Some of the most beautiful sites you will see are the fireworks over the Castle. Otherwise, do Fantasmic. It is my favorite as well. I haven't been able to see it the last 2 times and I am having serious withdrawels.

I have only seen Wishes but definitely recommend it! We have the CD and I still tear up a little when I listen to it. We also taped the show & all of us love to watch it. I can't wait to see it again next month!!! We will also see Fantasmic for the first time that trip.

Wishes and Fantasmic are stellar. Illuminations are just "so-so" to me.

Hasn't Illuminations been at Epcot for awhile? Judging by the feedback, maybe its time for Disney to start showing a new nighttime show at Epcot in addition to Illuminations. I've never seen Illuminations, but from what I've been hearing it isn't as good as the other 2 nighttime shows.

I think many are selling Illuminations short - it's a GREAT show, as are the other 2. We were fortunate enough to go early enough in the year that it was dark enough early enough to do 2 in one night. Took in Fantasmic when MGM closed at 7, and still had time to catch the boat over to Epcot and find a place for Illuminations at 9. Did Wishes the next night, then got to follow up with fireworks on Pirate night on board the Magic the next week at sea. Pretty lucky to get the Superfecta, eh?

Fantasmic is the best. We went on Saturday 23 and arrived only 15 mins before it started and got seats right at the front. we couldnt beleive it. we had rushed down there and hadnt eaten so we were even happier when they started selling hot dogs and we didnt even had to leave our seats. then the croud started doing mexican waves, loads of fun. it was the first night of our holiday and it as brilliant; couldnt have been better.

Fantasmic is a combination live show and laser/water show. fireworks dont play a very big part execpt at the end. Its basic good vs evil with mickey as the star. the catch with this show is that they use water fountains to create a water screen onto which they project video clips from disney films which are choreographed with the music and live action. It is hard to describe but you'll never forget it. it takes a lot to impress me but this was amazing. It takes place in large ampitheatre with a lake in the center which has an island on it. characters appear on the island and on boats in the lake. homage is paid to many disney movies and all the favourite characters are used but in a way that isnt confusing and flows well with the story.

The show is on at MGM usually twice a night and is located by turning right at the popcorn vendor on the right as you head down toward the tower of terror.
