Wishes every night! July 19 to August 2 (Updated: October 17)Completed

Wow! Great gift from Disney Florist! That's totally awesome!

Is that red luggage from Disney shopping? I have the same one! The wheel broke off of mine somewhere between Newark airport and my room at the Poly.

No. It's Air Canada luggage.

Which reminds me, I forgot to say that the other suitcase got to our room about 1 hour later.

Hey guys. Sorry there was no update tonight. I went out with a friend.

The food was good, the drinks were good, the DJ sucked, and there were no single guys. I could not even find a guy to dance with me :(

Yeah, bars are not my thing. I need to find other places to meet guys. Let's say that I was more depressed at the end of the night. It seems all the lovey dovey couples were there, kissing and snuggling. Oh well.

You will get a full day when I get up hehe

Weather: Cloudy and sunny. 90F without the humidity.

We woke up bright and early as usual for a first day. We had a ressie at Chef Mickey's for breakfast but not until 10:25am. Silly us, we should have known that on the first day of the vacation, and with the chaotic day of traveling we had the day before, we'd be up and early.

Well we hung out around the room, showered, and got ready.

We actually walked up to Chef Mickey's around 10am. We were just there, so why not see if we could get seated earlier.

We got there, and were handed our buzzer. Well no, we were not seated earlier. It took a long time.

We then were escorted to our table. We were a bit disapointed of where we were seated. We were seated in the first room, right in front of the kitchen doors. So a lot of people were walking by. So it was a bit disturbing.

Our server was a really nice lady. Shannon. I think she's the only name I wrote down. I forgot to write the rest. Silly me. We were starving. So she brought me some coffee, and my parents asked for sodas. Or my dad asked for tea, I don't remember.

While I drank my coffee, my parents went ahead and went to the buffet. They soon came back, and it was my turn.

The buffet was good, as I remembered. With one exception. My mom and I fell in love with the hashbrown potatoes. Well they didn't have them.

They had taters instead. They were good, but we were a bit disapointed.

Characters made their way around the room.

I did not get pictures with all the characters. And the pictures will see, I cut out my parents. They don't really like having their pictures on the net :)

The first that came around was..... Mickey!

He was great, as usual.

Then Minnie came around. She's my girl! hehe

minnieetmoi.jpg

Then Goofy made me jump by touching my shoulder. Yes, I had my back towards him lol

I almost spit out what I was eating.

Pluto came by after that, and made me scratch up his nose. Awe, such a good boy! :)

And finally, my dad's fave of ALL-TIME: Donald Duck!

He told him he's number one and he was psyched!

Oh I forget to say that when they do the celebration song, Shannon brought over a cupcake for my parents' anniversary! How sweet!

We were done eating, and were just waiting for Donald to come around so we could leave.

So we made our way towards our room, to get ready for a day at the Magic Kingdom!

So THAT'S why you didn't know that it rained on Monday morning!!

Too bad about your potatoes. We had dinner at Chef Mickey's once and it's wasn't the greatest. Maybe we'll do breakfast if and when we have kids. We LOVE Crystal Palace breakfast so much, there really is no reason for us to go to Chef Mickey's!

We decided to walk to the Magic Kingdom.

The walkway's a nice thing to have. We sure used it a lot.

We decided to shop a bit. Hey, we were in Disney. We needed Disney things lol

We walked around the shops and saw a lot of things we wanted. Well, mostly me.

As we got to Adventureland, my dad and I decided to get into "Pirates of the Carribean". It was a 15 min wait. We were set to meet my mom in Frontierland at the Christmas Shoppe.

I always go on the left side. As I was told it's the shortest line. Well people were mostly filing in that side. So my dad said we should go on the right.

Well he was right. And boy did he like reminding me lol The right side was almost a walk-on. We waited.... like 2 mins?

When we exited, we walked to the store. On the way we saw Donald standing for pictures, but my dad did not want to stop.

We made our way to the store and looked around.

The parade was going to start soon, so we decided to just stand in front of the store.

There was a nice CM there was talking to us. And joking. And since I have a huge thing for asian guys my mom wanted to ask him if he was single lol She said we could chat along lol

Well the parade started and it was a nice spot. All the characters gave us a high five and the float with Donald even stopped in front of us and they stepped down to dance.

It was a cute parade. And I'm happy they changed it. Don't get me wrong, I loved the other parade. But it was time for a change.

By the time the parade was over, we were so hot, we were melting. Well I was totally wet.

We decided to go get a drink and rested in a small area. I don't remember the name of the place. But they had Liberty Swirl slushies. It was good.

We then walked into fantasyland and did "It's A Small World". My dad loves it.

And the wait was not that long. Maybe 15 minutes in all?

Okay, I HAVE to comment on the whole left side, right side thing!!

You are ABSOLUTELY right about the lines being shorter on the left side. We drive on the right, we walk in the hallways on the right, when we pass people, we stay to the right, etc. For any other ride, that's the way to go. BUT, for Pirates, it's the opposite! I think it's because the way the entrance to the ride is set up, most people are already on that side when they walk up and just kind of flow into that line. It's like you almost have to make an effort to get over to the right side.

So you and your dad are both right!

Also, in general, people tend to just follow the crowds, so if they see everyone going in one side over the other, they think that's where they HAVE to go.

I feel like that was my "The More You Know" PSA of the day! :thumbsup2

hahaha I will gladly tell him that.

And thanks for the "More you know you" *shooting star*

They should. Shouldn't they?? I mean I eat healthy, but I can do without that bread lol

ME TOO!! Especially on vacation - those buns just crumble.

I love it. I am planning to move out next year and buying stuff for my appartment. So my parents gave me the flutes! woot woot!

That is a good start - setting up your first apartment is REALLY fun.

We got seated near the kitchen a few times this trip - once at the Wave and once at La Cellier. At the Wave - there were plenty of open tables so I could not figure that one out. It was not too bad though.

Yes, Pirates is different in this way. We always look to see which line looks shorter at Pirates. We kept going left this trip but last trip we always went right.

Nikki - I agree with your comment on Crystal Palace - I LOVE their breakfast - we did like Chef Mickey's for dinner but we did not like their breakfast so if you split them that way - you get the best of both worlds (in my opinion)

Ok I never commented on the update with the Wishes pictures form your balcony and all I can say is.....WOW. It's gorgeous! And the ones with the Mickey head lights are sooo cool too.

Chef Mickey's sounds great! We're going to try it there for dinner...have you ever been?

You should have asked the CM if he was single! :lmao:

Yes, buying stuff for the future appartment is fun. I'll have to stop for a bit for 2 reasons.

1- I am running out of room to store the stuff.
2- I am buying my first car!! Woot woot!

Being near the kitchen wasn't as bad as we thought.

Thanks!

We did. But you'll have to wait until my July 30th update.

I know. I am kicking myself. Let's look through the board for the Asian cm working the parade route July 20, in Liberty Square lol

As a side note, I just watched "Knowing" with Nicholas Cage. And I'm soooooooooo angry at the ending.

We are in 2010! It's because of Aliens is not an acceptable ending!

We soon exited "It's a Small World", and browsed a few stores

As we were nearing Main Street, my dad asked if we wanted to go back to the hotel. I agreed as I was getting exhausted and overheated.

But my parents wanted to make a quickstop at the Emporium.

I indulged them, but I really wanted to rest.

It happens that I had seen a cute automated Wall-E. Yep. I LOVE Wall-E.

Well my parents were buying it for me. YAY!!!

wdw2009part2085.jpg

We then went back to the hotel. As we walked in, we noticed there was a card near the coffee maker. We were given a Photopass card. Woohoo! I had not gotten mine yet.

After that,I changed into my swimsuit and went to float around the Quiet Pool.

The view is so nice. Though it wasn't that refreshing since the water was a but too hot, it was very nice.

A careless dad was letting his girls climb on his shoulders and jump in the pool. And I'm talking tweens. And the deepest the pool goes is 5 feet. :confused3

Some people. Oh well. I am not there to teach them how to behave!

After a while, my parents joined me.

After I dried off, I went to change clothes as we were going to the Contempo Cafe to grab dinner.

My dad chose the pepperoni flatbread, and my mom and I shared a cheese flatbread. We also ordered a side of "homemade" potato chips. They were really good.

Before going back to the room, I stopped at "Fantasia" and bought myself a coffee spoon (I had seen that spoon last year and had been unable to find it) and another pin.

We then got back to the room. We hung out. Watched tv. Watched the fireworks, and went to sleep.

Up next: Keys To The Kingdom Tour

Great updates! I had Chef Mickey's dinner and wasn't too impressed either. I do have to say that Crystal Palace is my favorite! I've had B, L, and D there and loved them all! Sorry the hashbrowns weren't there! Bummer!

Can't wait to hear about the tour!!!!

Mark me tardy but I'm here now!! :lmao:

I haven't even had a chance to view our photo pass pix yet. We only took a few. It was so hot and humid that we didn't feel like we looked our best.

We did not even have a chance to visit the Contemporary at all this trip. Its a nice place to run off to for a quick lunch if in the Magic Kingdom and its crowded in the Town Square area. Last time we were in there they were renovating, and it was sort of like musical chairs with the eateries. Things were being rearranged. I'd have liked to see how it all turned out.

I have never eaten at Chef Mickey's. We heard that it is loud. My sister had a dinner there in January, and she liked it. I've done Crystal Palace for dinner and enjoyed it very much. For CB's, we've done O'hana several times. We really enjoyed that one alot, but then after trying the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand and then this trip we did Cape May for breakfast, we liked the bigger menu variety at 1900 Park and Cape May. Although O'hana's was alot of fun. The food there is heavier and there is less fruit and pastry. I think the CB's are actually your best value over the dinners. Maybe that's because I have a picky DD7 and with the prices of the family style or the buffet meals, its just a waste of money with how little she eats. However, she does love breakfast foods, so a CB works well for us, even though she never gets our money's worth. However, when he's with us DS17 make up for what his sister doesn't eat. :rotfl::rotfl:

We did enjoy CM for dinner. We wish we'd done it more since we were already there. But I have never tried Crystal Palace.
