Wishes Do Come True!....a Birthday PTR

Good morning everyone!!!! I don't really have anything to talk about this morning, but I'm very excited for some reason. It's starting to sink in that we're leaving in 13 days. I can utilize online check-in 3 days from now. How crazy is that?! I'm still debating if I want to use it or not. They have my requests on my reservation and I plan on sending a fax 4 days before our arrival day. I'm just really hoping that I get them! I know nothing can be guaranteed, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed! We've paid for a preferred room so I'd like to be in one of the 60's buildings. I've also requested to be poolside on a higher floor. The noise from the pool doesn't bother us at all. I actually can't sleep if it's too quiet!

I feel like I'm starting to lose my mind a little bit. I have a very thorough packing list, but I keep checking it and adding little things to it. I think I just need to leave it alone. After reading some threads on the Dis, I've decided that I'd like to decorate our resort window. I went to Party City the other day and bought a few Tinkerbell birthday decorations. I've also seen some great things over on the DISign threads. I'm going to see if some of those talented ladies can make a few signs for me. I've messed around with some clip art and such, but my signs come out very boring. Has anyone ever decorated their windows before? If so, please feel free to post any pictures that you have. I'd love to see them!

Well, I think that's all for now. I'm just trying to figure out our evenings right now. I'd really like to use the PM EMH's, but I think MK might be too late for us. 11pm-2am!!!!! If if was just myself and Tony, I'd definately do it, but it's too late for Madison. Have a great day everyone!

I can't believe your trip is almost here....again! lol:rotfl: I'm sooo jealous, you're doing two trips before my one!! At least I get to live vicariously through you....so thanks for going, again!!;)

You're on countdown....is Madison getting excited? It must be sneaking up on your guys since you've been SO busy lately!! But that is a good thing.

OT, went to ON yesterday and made out well, thank you!! I got the boys a TON of long sleeve tshirts for Fall for $1.97 each! And some things for DH too on the 50% off sale, can't beat it!! So thanks!!:goodvibes

I still can't believe we're taking 2 trips in one year. I never thought I'd be so lucky!!! I'm glad that you've been enjoying my TR's and such. I know that you're going to have so much fun on your trip with your mom and sister. I'd love to do a girls only trip someday. My sisters and I would have a blast! We're getting very excited around for sure. I had a lot of fun over on the DISigns threads this morning. I still have to pick out which DISigns I want for window decorations!

I'm thrilled you were able to get some great stuff at ON for your boys and DH. I finally was able to take my DH shopping on Tuesday. On top of the 50% sale for Men, I was able to use my 25% off employee discount. So, we got 3 pair of cargo shorts, 2 t-shirts, a polo shirt and a pair of khakis for $52!!!! I was amazed. Cargo shorts are normally $24.50, so we made out quite well. Overall (with the sale and my discount) we saved $84!!! Isn't that just crazy?! The sale runs until the 21st, so I encourage everyone to get out there and shop for the men in their lives. Sales like this don't come along often.

I did my online check in today! I'm feeling really excited too! I would be more excited if my air hadn't gone out this morning.:headache: The repair man won't be here until tomorrow. At least we have a window unit that we bought after Hurricane Gustav when we didn't have power for 6 days. Right now it's cooling off our bedroom. I guess this is one way to get use to the heat we'll have in Florida.

Awesome! I think that if we decide to do online check-in, I'll wait until 2 or 3 days before we leave. That way, we'll be able to fax over our requests to Pop before we check-in. As far as A/C, our house doesn't have it. We had it in our apt and LOVED it, now, we're adjusting.

Hi Meghan!

I can't wait to see what you do with your windows! I think I will decorate when ds and I do a mother/son only trip later this year. I have seen the windows at POP with tiny blinking Christmas lights, animated Disney figures, all kinds of really cool ideas. I will definitely be checking out the signs, that's more my speed!

Can't wait to see what you've DISigned for your windows, sounds fun!!!:goodvibes

I made out great an ON, but you REALLY made out!!!!! Great deals and your really stocked up, that's awesome..I'm going to have to go back (without the boys!!) and see what else I can stock up on. We're heading to the beach in a couple of weeks and my DH could use some more stuff....so we'll see...thanks again for the tip!!!!:thumbsup2

It must be much cooler up there than here. We can't live without AC. It's hot and humid just like Florida.

I was thinking about bringing Madison's Princess barbie dolls to set up in the window, but that will take up too much space in our suitcases. I'll see what I can do. I did buy some Tinkerbell birthday stuff at Party City the other day. I don't know what I'm going to do with it yet, but it's so cute!

I think I've picked out some DISigns I want to have made, but my printer is acting up. I have plenty of color ink, but everything is printing too light. I might have to go over to my parents house and use up their ink! :rotfl:

Right now, it's in the mid 70's. But come July and August, we hit the 90's and the humidity is unbearable. Almost every weekend last summer, my DH and DD had "campouts" in the basement. It's so much cooler down there. I need my bed in order to sleep well, so I turn on my ceiling fan and the oscilating fan on high. I just can't bring myself to sleep in the basement. The floor is too hard (it's a finished basement, but it has burber carpet).

Hi Meghan,

I followed you over from the Pop Century Countdown thread. I've read the first couple of pages and will continue with the rest in just a bit. You've got a cute family and I can't wait to finish reading about all of your Disney adventures.

Thanks for making your way over!

I cannot believe that we leave in 10 days!!! I could have checked in online today, but I'm waiting until next weekend. I have my fax with our requests all ready to go. I've heard to fax your requests 4 days before you check-in, but that would be this Saturday the 20th. I don't have access to a fax machine on the weekends, so do you think I'd be ok to fax on Friday instead?? Anyways...I'm going to be borrowing something from tinkgurl's PTR this week. She's been letting us know what she'll be doing "one week from now" and it's so cool! I plan on adding my own little touch to it as well. So, make sure you join me this Wednesday for the first "One Week" installment!

I can't believe you're so close!!!!:goodvibes

I can't wait to read your plans for each day. Now go get packing!!! Just the thought of you waiting until a day or two before the trip panics me. :eek:I pack months out!

I can't pack too early. I need to do it all at once. Besides, I'm wearing most of the clothes that I need to pack (shorts, tanks, flip flops). I have to do laundry about 2 days before we leave and then pack a day before we go. I don't mean to panic you!

I'm waiting to do laundry too, at least that's my excuse tonight. I did get the cased down from the attic!

Today is the day I make my outfits -- We leave on Thursday for Universal! I divide up the last minute tasks to give myself something to do each day. Yesterday was packing my carry-on. DH and ds will pack the night before, and their suitcases will be a huge mess. One of the "benefits" of ds getting older, he now insists on packing himself. I make a list for him, and then hope he follows it. We'll stop on I-Drive for lunch as we go into Orlando -- I'm trying to decide what I want to do -- hit a buffet and just blow my eating up, or try to hang on for as long as possible -- Sunday we are going to DTD, so the Earl of Sandwich and Ghirardelli's are calling my name!

I'll still do laundry on Wednesday this week (my designated laundry day), but I'll probably do one more load next Monday!

Are you doing both Universal parks? We went to IOA in 2006 and it was awesome! My parents took Madison for the day so my DH, little sister and I could go have fun. I have't been to US since 1997, so a lot has changed I've heard. I read about their new roller coaster in our paper yesterday and it sounds so cool!

I cannot wait to go to Ghirardelli's this trip. We just couldn't fit it in back in January, so it's on my to-do list this time.

I am in the SINGLE DIGITS today!
:cool1::banana::yay::dance3::yay::banana::cool1:
party:

I am so excited! I can't stop thinking about the trip and it is consuming my life. I'm constantly on the DIS reading anything and everything! I think I need to relax a little bit because all this reading is getting me to overplan a bit. I've reread the part in the UG about avoiding EMH and now I'm starting to rethink our plans. Then, I talk to Tony about it and he just tells me to relax. So, we'll still be doing AM EMH and take it from there. I'd love to do some PM EMH, but it's just too late at MK. There is no way Madison will make it past 11pm (neither will I!). Ok, I'm starting to ramble, so that must mean it's time to go.

:dance3:WOOHOO for single digits!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance3: Try not to overthink it, you made some great plans and you will have a great time!!!! Just get packin' !!!!:cutie:

Me either. We are in Disney for ten days and one the road for two more so I have to have plenty of clothes. I have to wait until the day before to wash everything we are taking. But, around my house, I was every day so that's no big deal to me.

I got like this back in January too. I guess I just love to plan so much that I keep planning when there is none to be done! :rotfl: As far as packing goes, that won't happen until next Tuesday (aka the day before we leave). It's Madison's last day of school and Tony doesn't have to work. We can pack for all three of us in an hour or less. I have a great list!

I really don't mind doing laundry. There are only 3 of us, so it's really not a lot of clothes.
