We were finally able to get in this year so I'm looking very forward to it! I have read tons of reviews and it's probably really just something that you should try if you want to go because people have really great things to say and other not so much. It's usually about the crowd or lack of keeping the dessert's fresh though. We chose to do it for the location of watching the Fireworks so hopefully it will be a success! It was around $25 pp..no dining credits accepted!
Thanks for your replies.
The main reason I've been considering this was for a prime fireworks viewing spot, not the food. I'll have to read some more and decide if it's worth the cost.
Is there any restaurants that do this in MK, like the candlelight processional/Illuminations at HS or is the dessert party it?
No dinner and then viewing wishes at magic kingdom, just the tomorrowland dessert party and fireworks. I'm with you we at going for the fireworks ... If the desserts and coffee at good then it's a win win evening.
They do have a fantasmic dinner package at Disney Hollywood studios. We also have that book during our trip in November and includes dinner and priority seating for fantasmic

We did the dessert party in '12... Would NOT do it again. I'm a huge dessert fan, but I didn't think it was worth it. It was a great viewing spot; one good thing to say... Oh, another...they have a photog up there and you get a great shot with castle in back.
We did it last year and have it scheduled again this year. We loved it. Hanging out at a table, eating chocolate covered strawberries, drinking hot chocolate for 45 minutes, and being able to just walk up to the railing 5 minutes before the castle show is SO worth it for me.
No more staking out curb property for 1.5 hours and being shoved and elbowed with the rushing crowd.
We are trying it in a few days. Just having the spot is worth it to me after encountering a very angry lady during Wishes last time while being squished in a crowd. I hope to enjoy the fireworks this time.
It's a fun thing to do at least once. The desserts are generally bite-sized rather than big slabs of cake, etc., which allows you to try several different things. Most are good, but I would definitely not book this just for the food, as it is more about quantity than quality. With that said, it is indeed very nice to have the great view without being shoulder to shoulder with a thousand of your closest friends out in the park...and definitely a good spot for photos. We have some great shots of our kids looking out at the castle.
