wishes dessert party

We enjoyed it too. As others said, nice to have a private area. Plenty of space. We arrive about 45 minutes early. Some people were already claiming their spots at the railing near where Tink would fly.

We enjoyed the desserts. It was a real treat to eat unlimited desserts. We ate light earlier at The Plaza...salads....so we could indulge. I was a little disappointed that after our first trip to the buffet, the pistachio crème Brule was already gone. It's always sad to walk by other tables and see uneaten desserts that go to waste.

The view of the fireworks was fine. I would have liked to just sit at the table, but since so many people crowded the rail, I had no choice but to leave my seat and head there, too.

Overall, very memorable. Would consider doing it again.

What's the fireworks view like from the cruise? I'm guessing you don't see Tink though?

Counting down to 14th May!

You're far back that no you can't see Tink, but we had a very good view of the fire works and also there were like floats?that lit up on the water around us. I've only been to WDW once soni don't know what that was called.

So they just walk in front of you where you're sitting? Isn't that magical.

You are encouraged to do so. The table and chairs are supposed to be for your desserts but when the fireworks start, they want you to walk up to the railing. I think, if I'm remembering correctly, that you need to be at the railing to see Tink fly over. I know my DH and I were able to stay seated and see enough of the fireworks but I told my kids to go to the railing.

Hope that helps :)

We have done the dessert party for wishes twice now :) We loved it! We don't bother to eat dessert with out meals so dessert was a treat. Much of it is very nummy and I thought it was priced well for the value .

We are doing the dessert party this summer! It is our first time and we are very excited. I am excited the most about not fighting the crowds watching the fireworks. We found a great spot a few years ago, and since then the word got out. Now we get there super early only to get pushed around minutes before the show.

How early do people get to the dessert party? I would like my family to have a good selection to choose from.

:goodvibes

Oh Ok. So it's a completely separate area. I'd honestly just love to have a good view of the fireworks without being trampled on. That's why we never stay for them anymore. But this may be something we could do. Thank you all for your input.

We really enjoyed it... I definitely ate more than my fair share of chocolate covered strawberries :goodvibes

They only let enough people in so that when wishes starts everyone has a standing location on the rail for a great view.

The best part is not wasting 2 hours of precious park time trying to get a decent location for Wishes

I am looking forward to the Illuminations dessert party next, it is about double the cost but they also have Champagne and the Desserts from around World Showcase

We've done it 3 times and plan on doing it again on our next trip. It's nice to not have to fight the crowds for a spot. I really enjoy most of the desserts. One of the coolest things is seeing Tink fly right over you. Almost everyone does get up to stand at the railing when the fireworks start. And I have seen a couple people stake out their spots at the railing almost from the start of the party but I just don't feel that is necessary. One thing I missed at the last party was that there was no photopass photographer. We liked getting our family picture taken there. I do look forward to going back again.

We've done it twice and we loved it!!! We enjoyed having a less crowded area and most of the desserts are yummy!!!

We are going for the first time this year!:yay: I am celebrating my 50th birthday. :bday: We have an ADR at BOG for 5:15. I booked as soon as our window opened up.

To those that have done this before, how long before the fire works should you be there? And if everyone stands at the railings, is it still easy to get a spot if you wait until the fireworks start?

What type of desserts do they typically have? Do they always change or are they pretty much the same year-round?

We enjoyed it, we were there in May. The desserts were pretty good and the view was good. However I had a better view from the hub with no wait the next night. If I was vising during summer or the holidays I would do it again otherwise I wouldn't spend the money (glad I did it once though)

With boys of that age you may consider the pirates and pals fireworks cruise instead?

We really enjoyed the dessert party. The desserts are tasty but I like having a place to sit and relax without having to fight the crowd for a spot. You aren't seeing the castle straight on but its still a great view.

We have done the dessert party 2x.. both times, everyone enjoyed it.. There are threads on the restaurant forums that talk about it, and you may catch some photos of the actual party, like what desserts looked like, ect..

There have been recent complaints of the party though, that they have stopped serving some of the desserts and that selections have been lacking.. Also, for some reason, people have been getting calls from Disney letting them know they have cancelled their reservations for overbooking.... not sure what's going on with that... there is also a new dessert party in Epcot.. they will serve different desserts, that is an Illuminations party... Head over to those threads and you can read up about them...

I believe they start letting people in about an hour before the fireworks. We usually show up about 45 minutes before - you have a reserved table so don't have to be there that early but this gives us time to check in, find our table and have some desserts (which as I mentioned previously aren't that great). We've never had a problem finding a spot to watch the fireworks.

Desserts include some ice cream, chocolate, creme brulee, etc. Fairly diverse selection.

And despite the fact that the desserts aren't that good, definitely recommend because of location/reservations.

I recommend for the location alone. We did this once and I would do it again. The location and not having to fight the crowds for a spot is the best part, but the selection of desserts made us happy too and we had plenty to choose from.
