Hi there,

We are a family of 4 travelling in late August (2 adults, 1 young child, 1 infant). I have been trying to get a Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party reservation with no luck. Then I started wondering: is the fireworks viewing area for FP+ just as good as the viewing area for the Dessert Party? Is the dessert party worth it? Is it worth it to use a FP+ reservation for Wishes? Is it always this hard to get a Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party reservation or am I just having bad luck (I was able to get all the other ressies I wanted, including BOG dinner)?

We also have a reservation at California Grill anther night and am wondering if the Wishes viewing area there is pretty good? Is the food there good or is the main appeal the fireworks viewing area?

TIA!!

I can't answer all your other questions, as I do not know ..but I went to the fireworks party about 2 years ago and thought it was amazing! We actually didn't even end up eating too much, as we snacked so much during the day but the view was fabulous not to mention how awesome it is not to be crowded by so many people! I know they have changed the party since then, and I believe went up in price from two years ago, but I would definitely do it again!

Let me state that I don't know from experience but this is my opinion..we booked the Wishes Dessert Party on our next trip because we wanted something special to do at MK, we like dessert and HATE fighting crowds, but when we were last there, there was no problem seeing Wishes from pretty much anywhere down Main St., in front of the Castle, etc. I wouldn't waste a FP on it. California Grill is considered by many to be a great dining experience with or without the fireworks. Some say the view is not ideal, as you are a little off center there. But it sounds like a great overall experience.

Dessert parties. We do both. Love them. Would pay anything for them.

Why don't they have one for Phantasmic?

California grille is amazing!!!! Did it on honeymoon and anniversary! On the roof watching wishes with the music piped in is so cool!! The fillet was the best thing I have ever eaten. Everyone must do it once!!!!!

I did the dessert party for the first time 9 days ago. We had a fantastic table right in line with Cinderella's clothesline (where Tink flies down). We all loved it; the desserts, the low crowds, and of course, the fireworks. I never want to fight the crowds again.

We dined for the first time at CG last night (a lucky last minute snag) to view Celebrate America. When the fireworks finally went off (they were delayed for over an hour) they were truly breathtaking from the terrace, and the food was amazing too. :) I had never seen the 4th of July fireworks, but my parents have and they agreed that the view from CG was better than in the park, as the 360 degree effect is only visible from a few vantage points.

However, I don't think I'd spend the money at CG just for Wishes, unless you really want to dine there as well. If it was special fireworks then absolutely it is worth it imo just to not have to stand with 90,000 of my closest friends. I would definitely dine at CG again, though. Everything we had was delicious.
