Wishes Dessert Party Extended!

On the non-party night (28th) wishes is at 10pm,, but i have been given a 7.20pm slot with arrival 15 mins before  i will hav to enquire at my resort when i arrive i think unless this is spotted and fixed,, the CM said it may be a busy night and if i get 1 hour of desserts then leave to stand for the fireworks,, i was  to this, she said it was all standing, no tables,,

We are booked on a night with a 10pm wishes and were given a 7:00pm time slot too. I will be calling to double check. I was also told that there would not be any tables to sit at, and that it was all standing. I sure hope they're wrong and they still have tables, especially since I'm paying $27/adult during Thanksgiving week. How are we suppose to eat and drink without tables????

There are tables, just no chairs. I saw some pictures somewhere and it seemed strange to not have chairs. I never liked those chairs, they are noisy and heavy but where are you going to sit while you're eating?

Same thing here too! We're booked on 12/22 and have the same 7:00 slot even though Holiday Wishes is at 10:00 that night. The IPO people at the Grand Floridian concierge booked it for me, and I'm waiting my email response from them which I sent after I noticed the time on the reservation. This has to be a mistake, right? And I'm hoping the tables are reserved. If they are not, I might cancel. For this amount of $$$, standing seems a bit ridiculous.

These pictures show nice tables with tablecloths! Chairs also! hopefully, it is still like this. What i've heard is "seats aren't guaranteed". It's probably similar to Party for the Senses. It cost $200 per person and there ARE chairs but there are not enough for everyone. They assume you will be getting up to get desserts, watching fireworks, etc. Better have someone save that seat!

Will you let me know what you find out? I have the same thing except on the 21st. A 7pm ressie for 10pm wishes....thanks!!

those pictures are form the 1st run of the party. form what I understand when the price changed they did away with reserved seating. I had not heard about tking out all the chairs, but did read that there is no longer reserved seating.

i have a 7:20 for 10:00 wishes on Nov 25th. I called and had it checked, and after going thorugh 3 different people in different departments I as told that it was a error. The party starts an hour before the fireworks. They booked the ressie for us and told us to show up 1:15 before the fireworks. The dining Cm said she was making a note of what we were told and by whom on the ressie. we will see how it plays out.

it's probably that they can fit alot more people in STANDING than sitting, thus, more money. It's a shame it couldn't stay more elegant and intimate for that lower price.

I was at the Wishes Dessert Party on Sept 19th and I can tell you there was reserved seating. The tables had a card with the guests name and we had chairs! The party started at 8PM and the desserts were plenty. We lined up at 7:40 to get our wristbands and the line was LONG!!
The CMs kept refilling the desserts and they were delicious. About 8:45 or so, everyone started to move to the railing and there was plenty of room for everyone.
This was a great event and we all had a great time. It didn't seem over-crowded & it was alot of fun. We will do this again if it is offered for our next trip, which will be winter 2010.

Thanks for the great review! :thumbsup2

Hopefully the reserved seats will continue! :flower3:

OK, you all convinced me, I'm going for it. I won't eat for the whole day so I'll be sure to get my fill of desserts :rotfl2:

Okay- I just booked for Dec. 20th- super excited because I have been calling and this is the first time they were booking for that day.
BUT- same problem that others are reporting. I got 7:20 p.m. and Wishes is at 10:00 that night. So.. what's the deal??
I asked her about it and she said they just opened the window more, but I don't think she really knew the answer.

THEN when she was doing the spiel that they do when they give you the confirmation number, she said the party starts one hour before the show (fireworks). HA. So.. clear as mud, right??

I really. really wish they would fix this. It took me 30 min in the phone day before yesterday to get someone who sounded like they might know what is going on. I was told just to show up an hour before the fireworks:confused3:confused3

Yeah, I mean.. I booked it. Paid in full, too. Just to secure the spot. But I really hope it's just an oversight that they are planning to correct VERY soon.
I would expect that 7:20 to really be 9:20 or close to it.

Spectro is scheduled for 9:00 and I need to figure out how to do both.

I booked for 12/22 using the Grand Floridian IPO staff (we're staying concierge level this trip). So I emailed them, and they emailed me back with a 7:00 time even though Wishes is at 10:00. I then emailed back asking about two issues--the timing and tables.

Here's the word on the time:

You are correct Holiday Wishes™ is at 10:00pm on December 22, 2009 so the Wishes™ Dessert Party will start at 9:00pm

And yes, there are tables with chairs, too, and there are spots for about 150 people.

Oh, good. So hopefully it will all be straightened out. I was picturing hundreds of people coming back at 10:00 to watch Wishes.. eek!

I don't know if the times are making it tough to search, but I just called Disney Dining and they check for 12/20-12/28 and said there was no availability. Any ideas on whether I should be asking for them to open a search window starting at 7PM? or do you think they could be sold out for that entire time already?

Try calling again. The cm told me that the system only searches 2 days at a time. Did it seem like it took her awhile to tell you no luck?

Yes, it did. Seemed like it took a while for a response and she seemed like an 'on-the-ball' CM.

I booked yesterday for Dec 23rd & was also told to check in at the podium at 7:20pm but that the party started 1 hour before Wishes.

Regarding standing- the CM told me that we would have to stand on the terrace to watch Wishes but we would be seated for our desserts :thumbsup2

Has the pricing gone up? I appear to have been charged $70+ for 2 'adults' and a 9 year old

2 adults is $46.84 plus 12.77 for a child, incl. tax and grat. I would have them recheck that!
