Wishes Dessert Party and Parade......possible?

My family and I are going to WDW for the 1st time EVER in May. I have booked the Wishes dessert party on the same day as the Electric parade and really want to see both. I have a few options/questions:
1. Could we watch the parade and then check in for the dessert party? I'm not sure how long the parade is and if that is even a possibility. I thought someone said they serve the desserts throughout the whole thing so we would still be able to get some sweets.
2. We will be at MK on the day before so should I re-book the dessert party for Wed. and just stake out good spots for Thurs? I also think I read that tables are assigned best going first etc. and we were fairly early for the Thurs. booking. Will it make that big of a difference?

I am not really sure what the best thing to do is, but I can tell you that all of the tables at the party are good. You don't need to worry about that - and there are plenty of desserts all evening long. Usually there are still some left at the end of Wishes. Last time, we checked in and then went up to Main St to watch the parade. We did not have the best view, but dh put dd on his shoulders and I peeked through the crowd. This time we are planning on coming back to MK another night to watch MSEP and doing the dessert party separately...HTH!

We have done the dessert party twice. You can kind of see the parade from the party. If you have seen the parade several times, and don't need to take in all the details, it's fine to view from there. If you haven't seen the parade before or want to really take in all the details of it, I would not watch it from the party- you don't see all of it.

For our first party, we checked in at the terrace at 8:30, ran to Main street and got the very last spot to view the parade, watched it go by, then ran to the party and got there around 9:20. There were still desserts, but some things were gone. They replenished some dessserts, but not all. Honestly, it wasn't so much the cms' fault as the guests'. Guests were grabbing whole platters from the buffet, that sat uneaten on their tables.

So we were able to do what you suggested, regarding both parade and party, but honestly, I found it very rushed and stressful, which we booked the party to avoid.

For our second party, last year, we watched the parade from main street on a different night. Then for the party, we were able to relax and enjoy the desserts as we watched the parade from a distance (with a limited view) and enjoy the relaxed viewing of fireworks. THis time the desserts were replenished well, nothing ran out ever, though guests were more laid back, too. Desserts stayed out till the end of fireworks, but as soon as they were over, the desserts went away.

Some seats are closer to the viewing rail than others, but most guests do stand at the rail to view. THe difference is you stand up at the rail 5 min. before the show, rather than staking out a spot 30 min before.

Just like any other dining experience - you can call for ADRs or book online. The Dessert Party is held in the lower level of the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle shop, which is closed during the Party. I don't think they have many walk-up opportunities, and you do have to pay when you book (and they are not just holding your card info; they charge you right then). The party starts 1 hour before the fireworks. There are a limited number of tables and each is pre-assigned; you don't have to stake out a spot in line 2 hours before they open.

The 'party' is not really a party in the traditional sense of the word. There are no characters, no music, no events. There is a big buffet of bite-sized desserts whcih is replenished, as prev posters have said, through the end of the fireworks. There are limited beverages available, all non-alcoholic; these include iced tea and milk but do not include soda pop.

It's really a chance for your group to sit and chat together, sample lots of elegant little goodies, and then see the fireworks. You do not have to stand up to see them, although many people naturally do gravitate forward to the railing when the fireworks start. There is lots of room for everybody. DH and I went last year and enjoyed it so much that we are going again this year. I'm thinking it's better for adults/older kids, because it's more laid back and the dessert choices are a little more adult (choc-covered strawberries, not Mickey Mouse ice cream bars). The cost runs about $22 per adult at this time of year; $27 in the summertime.

What about watching the second viewing of the parade? Do you think it would be doable to view the fireworks from the party and then walk to Main St to view the parade? Just curious...as there are two parades the night we are there...

I don't see why not....I hadn't thought about two parades.
