Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Thread #3-book @ 180 Days Now!

Two Questions:

1) Can this be booked using the MDE website? The CM (Irene was her name) I just talked with said that we have to call in to get the reservation for this event and that we probably couldn't book it through MDE. Anyone here book theirs through MDE website? That's what I check daily. Today was my first time to call in to check for this event and that information seemed odd to me.

I booked mine online. I went to dining...magic kingdom, and it's in the list under Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party or something like that.

Woo hoo! Now I can sleep in past 6am!!!

Yay! I guess I am waiting for that call too since mine is for 6:10pm!

This is so frustrating. I booked my CRT and BOG dinners early (5:30 - 6:00 times) specifically so I could do wishes later in the evening. Now I can't book wishes - even though we know the times are going to change - without canceling BOG or CRT - and that's not going to happen lol.

This is what I would expect. Actually, at the time I booked my reservation, which must have been within minutes of them opening up the December dates, (based on hsmith365's who called 5 minutes before I booked and reported that they were not yet available,) all the dates through December 10th were showing times of 8:30 and 8:45. So those dates with the strange 6:00 times were bookable for later times, at least right at the beginning. Maybe it's just a glitch, not that Disney's site ever glitches LOL.

I would set up another MDE account just for the Wishes party ADR. Just use a different email.

Wow! That's a really good idea! Thank you! Have you tried this? Does it work? I don't want to risk messing up anything I already have. I'm concerned it will find my name already and 'glitch' up.

EDIT: I've been thinking about this. What will cause less potential chaos? Create another name for myself and use a different credit card or do it all under my spouse's name and card? Will this eventually be linked to the 'trip's' MDE or will it always be a separate deal - and will that be okay? I'm just scared of messing up my account in any way since we've all heard horror stories about Disney's ability to fix tech issues.

EDIT 2: Never mind, they're all sold out. I snagged one during my Party night, which would not be my preference, but I am glad to have got it.

I have two MDE accounts, both with my name and other pertinent info but different email addresses. They did not link themselves together. I think you could also use your husband's info and they would stay separate unless you linked them yourself.

I'm happy to hear you were able to at least get a reservation, even if it wasn't on your first choice of dates.

Don't be sorry! I appreciate the help. I guess it will be okay to go during the party. It's just that it's my one and only shot at the Christmas party (they don't do them at disneyland... Yet...) so taking any time away from it concerns me. Yet, I've been to enough Halloween parties out here to know that all you really do is watch fireworks, parade, and eat treats anyway. If I decide to cancel I'll post here first.

Whoop whoop finally got a reservation, not for the date I originally wanted, but have adjusted. December 9th day before we fly home, so not a bad way to end our vacation if I do say so.

When I was checking, the 2nd and 7th were available online if anyone is interested

I am in sooo sad. I just busted out crying. I tried first thing this morning calling and email and nothing. I had to go out this morning and just got back to find that it opened up. Nothing for the 1st or 6th of December now. I can't believe that thus happened. I have been trying everyday for the last week and half every morning. PLEASE PLEASE if anyone cancels for the 1st or 6th let me know. I have tried now for 3 years and I can never get this. I am just crushed.

I hope that all the others that have waited with me got in.

Actually, going to double-up on the dessert party this year. Was already booked for 11/29, but DW reminded me that we did the Dessert party last yr on the night of our Mvmcp, and that we kept saying how great it was that we didn't have to fight thru any crowds to get a nice view of the parade AND Wishes!!

So was going to cancel the one on the 29th, but..... Nah!!!

Was already booked for 11/29, but DW reminded me that we did the Dessert party last yr on the night of our Mvmcp, and that we kept saying how great it was that we didn't have to fight thru any crowds to get a nice view of the parade AND Wishes!! So was going to cancel the one on the 29th, but..... Nah!!!

How's it work with the parade? I've only been to WDW once years ago and I'm having trouble envisioning everything. Do you just stay where you are and can see the parade? Is it before or after?

I was also advised to check back in a couple of days! I am so happy that I checked the boards and someone posted that it was open! I would have been so upset if I would have called tomorrow (I have been calling everyday since my 180 days hit) and I would not have gotten in! I just went check the dates that we were going to be there (29th-8th) and the only date left with reservations is the 5th and that is probably going to book up tonight!

Thanks to the wonderful people on these boards, My Fiancee is getting what he wanted to do for our honeymoon!

How's it work with the parade? I've only been to WDW once years ago and I'm having trouble envisioning everything. Do you just stay where you are and can see the parade? Is it before or after?

We WANT to do it during the party. You would have had to stake out a viewing spot anyway. We always get snacks to eat while we wait. The way I see it, if I account for the time I would have had to spend waiting in line to buy snacks, and the time I would have spent staking out my viewing spot, I'm only "losing" a few minutes by doing the party instead!
