Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Thread #3-book @ 180 Days Now!

I am trying to reserve Wishes dessert party for Dec 9. I tried on-line at 2am this morning, then at 6:30am, 7:00am and 7:30am. When I got to work at 8:10am I called the Dining line and was told they were sold out for Dec 9th. That hardly seems possible, but I didn't argue with her. I have been checking through MDE on and off all day, but so far nothing.

Does anyone have any advice? Is it possible that they could be totally booked so soon? Did anyone else get reservations for Dec 9?

I appreciate any and all advice.

Keep checking and also check the December ADR cancellation thread (I don't know if it exists yet, but it will). I had the same thing happen to me and I scored yesterday using the November thread. Someone was kind enough to post and then coordinate cancelling online with me so that I could grab it.

People definitely book them and then cancel. Maybe not as frequently as ADR's that don't require full payment, but they definitely do cancel.

I have reservations for the 9th. I remember reading (on AllEars possibly) that the max capacity is 200 guests, so it sells out very quickly.

Since you were able to snag your spot for Dec. 9, when did you book it? I am not interested in the 9th, myself, I am just trying to figure out the timing of booking this event (which I booked in 2013 about 30 days out without all the hoopla...). Does the reservation for this utilize the 180+10 perk? Thanks!

For me, it opened mid-morning 173 days ahead of arrival. Have fun!

Yesterday, just after 10:00 am. They opened a bunch of December dates at that time. Someone else had called just five minutes before that and was told December hadn't opened up yet. Then I refreshed my page online and there it was. I'm not sure how far into December they made available. I could only see as far as the 10th because that's my check out date, but I read of someone booking the 12th. It is part of the 180+10 **IF** the dates are open at that point. I was able to make my other reservations on the 9th, but the dessert party wasn't available at that point. It didn't open until yesterday, the 11th. So those who were looking for December 1st were just able to get it yesterday, well into their 180+10 period.

Yesterday morning when I tried to get reservations nothing was available. Was having lunch around 11:30 and decided to give it a try. Was I shocked when available was there for December 3. I had to look at it twice just to make sure.

Same for me when I booked in early May for next November. It was around 11:30-12:30. Same thing when it use to be by 30-60 out for reservations. Last year it opened around the same time.

I bet the party nights get a lot of cancelations from people who didn't realize the party was happening or that they'd need seperate admission.

This is my first post... (other than vacation club points posts) so forgive me if this is not where I should be doing this. Called 180 out to make reservations for everything. Could not make Dessert Party reservations. First person said keep trying, but then after a few tries one of the cast members said it did not open up until 90 days before our trip. Imagine my surprise when I ran across this board and you all are making reservations. I tried this morning and nothing is available-- not shocking after reading through this thread, but there was no availability for any date up through December 10th-- only can check until then. I am looking for some veterans to advise me on how to try and get a reservation. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Just keep checking because people do cancel. When I was waiting for December dates to open I kept this page up on my computer at work and checked every ten minutes or so.

I'm interested in going on either 12/10 or 12/15 (non party nights). I have been checking the last few days and every time I search on these dates, the time is always set to 6pm, even though wishes at 9pm. It never finds any matches. Anyone know what the deal with that is?

It's probably just a mistake. Most likely they will change the time later, but I don't think anyone knows for certain.

Back when I was still trying to get the 3rd or 10th, the very helpful cast member said she'd spoke with other guests and travel agents who were unhappy that they couldn't book this due to an existing dinner reservation around the 6:00 window. She said Disney was aware of the issue and would be fixing it soon. However thanks to the advice of some here I've decided to learn to love my party night reservation and have stopped calling or checking. Just now I went in and 6:00 is still the time. Part of me thinks this may be an intentional move or test on Disney's part. Perhaps they found that people no-showing the fireworks had dinners right before or they want to minimize the 'power planners' from getting too much goodness. Lol. At any rate, that cast member seemed well informed and did say the times would change. Eventually.

When I talked to the lady at dining, she couldn't figure out why she was able to book someone on the 15th, but to her it looked like the 13th wasn't open yet either. Makes no sense to me, but I'm with you on this one. If I hear anything I will PM you.

My 180 days starts tomorrow morning at 6am. Question on the 180 days. As of now, when I got to MDE, dates through December 11th are available, which makes sense since I arrive on 12/12 which is why my 180 days start tomorrow. With the 180+ 10, will that mean that tomorrow morning, 12/12 will be available for me as well as all dates through 12/21? Or do I need to call for the +10 days? First thing on my list is the dessert party!
