Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Thread #3-book @ 180 Days Now!

This will be our first time to do the dessert party. Do we really need to line up at 8:00 for a 9:00 reservation? If we showed up at 8:40 would we really be limited on what was left on the buffet?

What time are the fireworks? The party will open about an hour or so before that...and a line generally starts forming about 1/2 hour before that.
It all depends on the type of crowd there. We've been to a few where the dessert selection lasted quite a while, and then there were a few occasions where there was a lot of mass chaos with people acting like it was their last meal on earth. Sorry there isn't a conclusive answer to be given. We get there on the early side for the simple fact of relaxing.

I haven't done this before either but the whole party doesn't start until one hour before Wishes. And my understanding is that you have a specific table reserved for you.

So is your reservation for 8:00 or 9:00? What time is Wishes on the day of your party?

We did it for the first time last week. We showed up at 7:30 to our awesome reserved table. Plenty of desserts left. Was very easy and fun.

The fireworks start at 10 and my reservation is for 9. It is in early March. Touring plans thinks the day will be a 7 as far as crowds go.

Was just able to reserve for March 28th at 9:00! Not my first choice but excited nonetheless. Gonna keep trying for April 2nd. I've been clicking Find a Table so much the past week with no results that I was shocked when there were 2 available times on the 28th. When I tried for April 2nd they were having technical problems so I had to call in. No availability on that night still. At least I scored the 28th!! pixiedust:

I guess I haven't heard from anyone yet that you need to arrive an hour early. I was planning on arriving about 30 minutes early. But I'd love to hear how early others arrived.

We arrived at 7:30 for 8:00 Wishes last week. Worked out perfect for us.

You really don't need to get there early. Your seat is assigned, and you have an hour to enjoy your desserts before Wishes begins. In the past we've arrived a little before our reservation time and there's usually a line to stand in. Then, you end up finishing your desserts and having a random 15-20 minute chunk of time before Wishes starts, so I think if we do the dessert party again we'll probably wait and arrive a little later.

Just came home from our trip we had amazing seats for the dessert party! Lucky I was watching when it opened up to 180 day reservations. Sad thing is though it had been raining off and on so tink didn't fly. I've never gotten to see her fly and was really looking forward to it :(

I can't believe it. I was finally able to login to my MDE account and immediately tried for the party again and.... LOOK!! There's a 9:15!! So, of course, I try to grab it. It wouldn't go thru however, because I already had a reservation at that time. Well, usually when you make a new one, you can choose to cancel the old one at the same time. Easy-peasy. Did it work the same this time? NOOOO!! I had to hurry and cancel the existing one, went back to grab the 9:15 and.... it was gone. GONE! Sooo, I wipe the tears, reluctantly go back and rebook the original reservation (at the original time thank goodness) and am back on the task of trying for the party on my desired date (April 2nd). Oh so close!! *sigh* :worried:

Editing to add that my persistence has paid off! That 9:15 just popped up again and I got it!! Now my question is, since I didn't get the 9:00 option, can I still arrive at like 8:30 and get in with the rest of the early arrivals?

Question to those who have done the dessert party before....Should we have extra cash on hand for tipping? Is there anyone specific to tip? I'm just not sure of the set-up and what to expect. Thanks! :)

I have a Saturday 3/1 dessert party reservation for 3 that I am starting to think won't work for us. What I would desperately like instead is a Friday 2/28 spot. If anyone has Friday (a spot for 2 would be enough) and wants my Saturday, PM me and we can coordinate cancellation times.

Anyone know?

When I went in Dec we did not tip and I did not see anyone else leave anything. I am not sure if this is the normal, but you do not get waited on here you get your own deserts and drinks.

That's what I thought but I wanted to make sure because I'm organizing all my tip money. Thank you!
