Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Thread #3-book @ 180 Days Now!

Hmmmm. If requiring the physical card is the case, it should be noted on the reservation confirmation, or during the reservation process for the thousands of people that book online :confused3. It isn't in my confirmation. I have a reservation number, and my phone number and name. That will have to be enough for them. I don't carry my credit card around the parks, and have never been asked for it to confirm anything. I can't imagine they are turning away all the people whom they neglected to inform.
I do not think they will be turning anyone away. There is nothing on the confirm online, or in the email or from the cm who deleted one person from my original online reservation, as seating for two was not available online. Besides, the card I did use, I never bring with me.

If they turn you away, they better refund your money. However, I really can't see them turning you away. The only reason that I can think why they would do this is because someone is reselling the reservations. Other than that, it doesn't make sense.

I too am buying this vacation as a gift so I had to call... and I was told that third party paymnet was not accepted.... the person on the CC had to be the main person the reservation and had to be present. I asked if this was true for anything else and she said just CRT (this is true even if you are using the DDP to attend).... so I have 2 ADR's I need to find work arounds for. :crazy2::sad::crazy2::rolleyes2::faint:

I bet your right on the reselling thing.:crazy2:

So if the person on the card has to be present that's one thing, if you have to bring the card that's another. I suppose I'll bring it just in case but I really don't like carrying anything like that around with me. Oh well, not the end of the world but it stinks for the people who made these reservations as a gift/surprise for others.

Do they allow you to pay for it with Disney gift cards?

I just booked today using a disney gift card and remaining on credit card. It did not work online but when I called the dining reservations line they were able to let me pay with disney gift card.

WOAH! Considering I just booked our November Dessert Party about a month ago, I was so shocked to see I could book it for our wedding in February! I'm so glad I randomly came on here today!!! Got it for the night after our wedding! Our first Wishes experience as husband and wife! CRAZY!!!!!!!! :cool1:

This brings up an interesting point. If you pay for the entire thing with a Disney Gift card then how would you bring the card? And gift cards are same as cash there is no way to verify them... I've been buying Disney gift cards at Kroger's to pay for this entire trip so I get the fuel points :) Every payment i want to make I get a gift card first. I used my debit card to buy these tickets... Wish I went and got another gift card! lol

I was also told about the person who's name is on the credit card needing to be present. I wasn't told that the actual card needed to be presented - just that the name needed to match one of the guests.

And I also assumed it was to combat fraud (ie reselling ADRs or something similar).

So if this is true....Are we going to have to bring a ID along??? A Res# should be enough- :confused3

If I recall from our April trip, all that was asked was our name. If that is the qualifier, just have the person in your party state the name of the reserver. I do know there was absolutely no verification. And I don't see how there could be, many people carry no identifying items with them, such as license, etc. Not a good idea, but I know some do not.

Where does it say that you have to show the credit card that you pre-paid the reservation with?

I am looking at my reservation and nowhere on it does it state that I have to bring the credit card that I prepaid the party reservation to the park and show the CM at the entrance of the event.

My tickets for the Christmas Party state on the reservation that I have to bring the credit card - but the tickets are at will call.

We've been to the dessert party 4 times and we've never had to do this. Is it a new policy?

Okay I have found this at a few different sites (but not spoken to Disney directly) what I read was you will need your ID and the name on the reservation must match the person who is there. It also said 3rd party credit cards are not allowed. I also booked online and did not get any notice of any of this. Plus I must say opening at 180 kinda stinks the great thing about this reservation was the anticipation of when it was going to open and then finally getting the reservation! I have been watching this thread since July opened (so May) and every month I got so excited to see people getting what they were waiting for. The good side is that people can better plan for this and make sure they are able to get it (which is more beneficial than the excitement) Here is the site that had the updated info for the dessert party:

Although I've never been required to show it, the Reservation folks have mentioned before about "having the credit card on hand"-(regarding pre-pay meals).. Not sure if she asked this morning...I was so shocked to actually get The Dessert Thingie this year! -(and I rarely eat sweets!!!) :lmao:
