Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Thread #3-book @ 180 Days Now!

Try changing the number of people. It seems ere are little or no 2 people reservations so people have been doing 3 and then canceling a person and it seems to work that way. But I would start with changing the number of people and seeing what that does.

Our reservation would be for 3! :) It just keeps saying no tables, thanks for the advice anyway!! :goodvibes I told hubby so he said just to book it for the night before and he will treat us to another night at MVMCP! I would say that's a good result!! :rotfl:

I know I'm super late posting this but....I FINALLY GOT MY WISHES RESSIE!!!!...I randomly checked yesterday morning before work even though I was running late lol that's y I couldn't post about it lol December 11th @ 8:00pm.....We also had an ADR for Tonys Town Square Restaurant @ 6:35 but changed it to 5:15 so we could enjoy our first wishes dessert party!!!! :-)

well gotta say this was my first thread to subscribe to, and quite honestly it failed. never got any notice yesterday. by the time i checked in the evening all the 2 tops were gone for the dates we needed. there is 3 seats available but new rules this year are the person who booked must match the credit card used and BOTH must be present at time of checking in at event. our problem was this was going to be a present, we were not even going. so even if there was 2 tops left, still wouldnt work for us. we called and explained but the cm's said it was new rules and out of there hands.:confused3 congrats on everyone who got what they wanted.

Book for three online and then some time later, call and cancel one. I did that for my desired two, along with others. I was trying to reserve for two about 15 minutes after reservations opened and there were no 2's for online booking.

thats what we was going to do, cancel one. but with the new rules this year, the person booking must be present with the credit card used at time of checking into event. The cm's told us if that person is not there the rest of party is not permitted in. and this was a surprise for someone, we are not even going. so anybody wanting to buy this for someone else as a surprise, make sure your going to be there, or everyone will be left with a sweet tooth!

I was not told this and neither was my friend who made a booking for us a separate night. I would check with a different cast member. Booking 180 days out..you may use a different card than the one you bring to Disney. this makes no sense.

Agreed. The card that I will use expires within the time between my booking and our arrival. What are we do to? Remember to save the expired card and pack it for Disney? Seems a little silly.

Ok...OK.... this is our first time staying Onsite (but second time ever at DW) and doing the DDP- I have booked a ton of character dinings also, I kind of wanted to not have to deal with crowds and waiting for a spot and everything- I booked Candlelight Processional Dining package, Fanastmic Dining Package- so we are going to be at MK for 3 full days- one with MVMCP also- am I crazy to have booked the Dessert Party every night we are at MK? To me it doesn't matter about the money part- I would rather pay and not be in a herd of people and have to waste time waiting for a spot.

I have booked- Dec 9,12 and the 14! party of 3 (me, DH and DD)

If money didn't matter to you- would you book it like I did?

Also on MVMCP night-can you see all the graphics on the castle and hear the music fine.

What is the difference between the two Fireworks- the standard one at night and the MVMCP?

Thanks for all the help inadvance!:cool1:

I would not do this, if only because of the parades. On nights when there are two parades, if you can stay that late, you can go watch the second parade. But on nights with only one parade, the view from the terrace isn't nearly as good as you'd like if you really want to watch the parade, which takes place during the party. You also have to remember that MSEP is only done on certain nights, so you're not guaranteed to have a parade on any given MK night, unless there is a party -- and then it won't be MSEP, which is also reportedly going away very soon.

The parades and fireworks on party nights are different from regular nights, and while the view is good from the terrace for all of them, I hear it's not as good on party nights because of a wider area being used for them, so you may want to consider that. You may just want to look at what nights regular Wishes is on, what nights MSEP is planned and what nights have the holiday Wishes and parades and try to plan it so you can see it all, even if it means camping out on the curb to see the parade one or more nights, depending on what you really want to see. I'll give up a first Christmas parade for terrace seating for holiday Wishes, but knowing that I can stay for the second parade and that I will be there for regular Wishes and MSEP on another night.

Bottom line -- we book a lot of special experiences, but I wouldn't do the dessert party every night I was in MK, especially if it meant I missed one or more parades due to the limited viewing from the terrace.

There was no mention of a credit card check or anything similar, either online when making reservation, nor in the confirming email. And nothing similar when we did this back in April.

I would just go and try to book three online and then cancel one on the phone.

I booked the dessert party for 12/4 which is our only day at the park that the Main Street electrical parade will occur. How much of this can be seen from the party?

Well guess what? This won't work for me. I hate it when companies do this. I use a virtual credit card everytime I make bookings online. So, this means the number I book with never matches my cc number on my card.

I would think your magic band or key to the world is what you would need. I can't imagine you actually have to carry your credit card with you.

I was not even worried about this thread since I figured my date (Feb 26, 2014) would open in late November and I stop by today and lo and behold open through March. I then looked online for my date and nothing was available. I was so disappointed and mad at myself for not being more vigilant. Thankfully, I decided to call and there was availability for 2/26. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

This will be our first time going to the Dessert Party.

I was told this on the phone by the CM too & she seemed super knowledgeable about the party. She just said the credit card name has to match someone attending the party. She didn't say I had to bring the card to the party, but I will have it on hand either way so it doesn't matter.

well i just called again like someone else suggested (4th cm i spoke with) and she said same thing "card holder needs to be present" the one i spoke with this morning is like "no, never heard of such thing" but as she was reading the rules out loud she goes "theres a five day cancellation policy and.......oh wait a second" im like what? she says "this must be new, never seen this before" again im like what? she replies with "you were right, cardholder must be present with card for admission to event." this was going to be a surprise christmas present for someone:mad:

Hmmmm. If requiring the physical card is the case, it should be noted on the reservation confirmation, or during the reservation process for the thousands of people that book online :confused3. It isn't in my confirmation. I have a reservation number, and my phone number and name. That will have to be enough for them. I don't carry my credit card around the parks, and have never been asked for it to confirm anything. I can't imagine they are turning away all the people whom they neglected to inform.

i feel the same way as you pigletto, isnt that the whole purpose of the magicbands....less stuff to carry, hassle free...got me scratchin my head. :confused3

yo know what gets me more than the physical card in person is you have to be present to get the party in. Im not even going to be there. I explained to all 4 cm's this is a surprise christmas present, let me pay now with my card, put other people on the ressie. seems simple to me. no can do.....geewhiz
